Hello ! I created a new session under windows XP Pro yesterday. Everything is right, every application works fine, but I CAN'T GO ON A HTTPS website with internet explorer (v.6) .... It's realy boring because I can't go on my mailbox, ... I have tried to uninstall IE 6 to reinstall it ... But I can't find where I can remove it ... Maybe I don't have to reinstall it, it's maybe a stupid option which is not enabled under this session (because under the other sessions of win XP, I can surf on a https website ...) Please tell me what I have to do ... And if I have to reinstall ie6, tell me where ... Thanks ! Val

Hi ! I have win Xp pro. I have 4 different sessions. I would like to use different resolution's parameters in each session... because my mother can't see what is on the screen when it's in 1024 It was possible under win 98 or Me but I can't do that under Xp ! Please ! Say me what is the way to use different resolution ! Thanks !

Thanks, I think that I 'll write a litlle prog to set my resolutions parameters when I launch my account. It's strange that microsoft hasn't thought to that ... It was possible on win 98, Me, ... why not under XP ??? Bye, val

Hi, I have for 1 week an issue with win XP pro. Everytimes that I boot up my computer, Win XP checks the "integrity" of my HDD (ntfs). After that it has checked it, he reboots my machine and ... it checks it again! So I have to press a key to cancel the integrity check, if I don't do that, ma machine will reboot continuously! It's strange because the integrity check doesn't find any problem with my HDD ... But SOMETIMES, (not everytimes !) win XP says me that a file is damaged (CME II sys or something like that) and that I have to check the integrity of my hard disk whereas windows does that at every boot! I don't think that my HDD is damaged. My win installation is brand new ! I have formated my HDD and installed win XP pro 2 weeks ago ! What can I do ? What 's the mater with my HDD ? Please ... Help ;( Thanks for your answers !

Hello I use a hard drive for my backups, ... This drive is full and at every boot, windows says me that my disk space is low on this drive. I know it and it 's not a problem ! How can I disable this setting ? I am sure it's not complicated but it can't find it !! Thanks a lot !

Hi, I don't know what are your system specifications. I had the same problem, XP was slow, not only for the boot up but to launch an application, too. I know that XP ask minimum a 500 Mhz (it's recommended) and that I have a 433 Mhz, but it was not normal. I have found a patch called memory enabler for VIA chipset only, it has worked for me but if you have'nt a via chipset it not works for you, I have installed it and now, my computer is perfect ! If you have a via chipset, try it (this patch doesn't work for all via chipset - read the documentation in the zip archive), you can download this patch here PATCH VIA MEMORYENABLER It was my solution .... ! If you don't have a via chipset, check your Bios settings ... A lot of problems comes form a bios which is badly configured ! Bye ...and good luck !

Hello everybody ! I have to set my PC as a DHCP server. I am using win XP pro. I don't know anything in networking ... I cannot find where I have to turn on this option . Maybe I have to install something ? Please help me ... Thanks

Thanks everybody. I was looking for sharing my internet connection with a PC which is already configured as a DHCP client. I don't know why but by giving the first IP to my PC (192.168.0.1) I managed to connect the other computer (DHCP client). It works ... So it's good ! Bye, Valéry

Hello everybody... I use the 27.70 bêta drivers (detonator) for my geforce II mx 400 under micro$oft windows XP pro. Like a lot of my friends, when I play (with opengl or direct 3d) I have a refresh rate of 60 Hz. It's really boring for me and for my eyes (they are like this: 8) ) I know that we can resolve this issue by using the official drivers of nvidia (23.11) but these drivers cause some instability issues on my computer. So, briefly, does somebody know how I can play with another refreseh rate than 60 Hz with beta drivers (27.70) Thanks for my eyes !

I have two computers. One under win nt 4.0 and the other, under win XP The win nt4.0 is a computer from my office and the networking is configured for my office network. I would like to make a local netwotk with my computer at home (win XP) and my computer from my Office to use my printer, to transfer files, ... The problem is that all the network parameters are configured for my Office (There is something like: "Obtain IP address from a DHCP server", a domain name, ... I would like to make a simple network with just 2 computers and I can't because if I change my parameters, I wouldn't be able anymore to use the network at my Office ... Is it possible to create something like a new WINT NT session where I can set special network parameters, to make a local network at home, without change my office 's network parameters ? I think that it's possible but I don't know win nt and moreover I am really bad to use a network ? So, what about a simple issue ? PLEASE !

Thanks everybody ! I think that I 'll first ask to my admins what I can do ... After I'll follow your advices ! Thanks very much. Valéry

Hello, I see that you use the DSL. I have a DSL modem (USB) too and when this one is switch on, my computer reacts slow in games, applications,... So when I want to play, to use an application which asks a lot of performance, I switch off my USB DSL modem. I think that your problem is more important (you have to wait 3 minutes .... me just 10 sec ) ;( because you are one a network too . So try to switch off your network and your DSL modem and see ... if it works ... ! I see that the problem is more important on slow computers (400 Mhz) than on faster computers (800 Mhz). Bye, Valéry

Hello everybody ... Under windows XP, I usually receive the known message IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL ! It mostly arrive when I am listening mp3's with winamp, after 5 minutes. It sometimes arrives during games or others applications, too. Somebody told me on another forum that it was a problem with the USB controller on my motherboard ... (strange ! ) So I tried to disabled this, but I still receive the message. I think that this message is because I have too much devices on the same IRQ ... (exemple: 3 devices on the IRQ 11, the IRQ of my graphic card) How can I do to change the IRQ's ? I heard that win XP IRQ management is really bad ... What can I do ?

THAANNNNNKKSS everybody I mixed up all your ideas 2 weeks ago !! This is what I made ... -1- I completly format my hard drive ... -2- After that I set all my Bios parameters to "default" -3- I take out all my PCI boards ! -4- I have reinstalled WIN XP pro -5- Then I moved all my PCI boards (and I haven't any PCI board on the first slot now) to have a maximum of different IRQ's for each PCI device -6- I just install the via 4 in 1 drivers (and I haven't installed the via latency patch) -7- My computer is now PERFECT !!! Rq I don't have disabled the ACPI because a lot of friends said me that I 'll lost too much performance ... NO ERROR since I reinstalled all ! I am so happy !!!! I can play now ! I can do everything with no problem ! No freez no infinite loop error no irq not less or equal, ..... THANKS A LOT
