  1. Well, here is the answer that I found out on my own. Turns out the dvd drive was in fact, bad. I ask myself why both drives would give the error message, and the only thing I can come up with is they share the same data cable, therefore, if one goes bad, the other one "thinks" it's bad. I bought a new dvd drive today, and everything works fine. Who woulda guessed??
  2. I am running W2K and recently developed a problem. When I boot my machine up, all of the drives show up in windows explorer. When I put a disk into either drive (dvdrom or cdr drive), the disk spins, but nothing else happens. When I double-click the drive in explorer, I get a message that says, "disk in drive is not formatted. Would you like to format now?". What is that and why is it happening. How can I fix it. This error comes up even when no disk is in the drive. What gives? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Eric
