Yes, It works no problem. (I don't have expansion though) I use winxp sp2 all latest patches. Just install. Apply patch (i used version 1.11; took a while to locate) Rename opengl32.dll, if u don't have a 3dfx card. Add -width 1024 to the gl shortcut else it runs in 320x240 Click the gl shortcut you altered. Nothing else needed.

You tried using memmaker (or something like that ) - came with dos 6 anyways. Other than that its gonna be posting autoexec.bat, config.sys and mem /c which could get messy.

Hi, you could try q2ace from http://www.savageservers.com/q2ace/ It's an anti-cheat online version of q2 and is base on ID's release of their source updated to version 3.21 It has alot of modifications - some for stopping of online cheats and includes a fix for a mouse function change that MS inplememented in XP - so could have other fixes in place like for the problems your having. It does work in single player for me and does work with my 3.20 saves but I didn't have any problems before. Another try could be to delete (backup first) your config files (autoexec.cfg and config.cfg) - You will need to reconfig vid sound and keys etc and it will rebuild config.cfg on exit. Hope this helps SS!

Hi, Unfortunately system restore doesn’t help if your windows\system32\config\system file gets corrupt. You have an unbootable system. (I've just experienced it)! It suggests booting to recovery console and copying a "good one" from windows\repair. I did this and had an unbootable PC - login information incorrect (ie system login didn't work so couldn’t start services etc and I could no longer use recovery console as admin login didn't work, password always incorrect). Had to copy the whole of repair and lost all logins and hence all encrypted files - had to install win2k to do this (sigh). My advice is to run a backup pick "system state" from my computer - kill it if you don't want the backup but it updates the repair folder. It also creates 2 files for an auto recovery disk but need to find more info on this. When I finally got a working system all my recovery points were gone. ie a waste of space had to live with what I had. I'm scared !!! ps Hope this makes sense

Hi, I have had similar problems after a disconnection - but not all the time. It seems that windows was keeping old routing information (netstat -r) attributed to the WAN (PPP/SLIP) Interface. So after a reconnection the routing was screwed. Need a reboot to clear it. I removed the Remote assistant patch Q311889 - it hasn't happened since, co-incidence??? I preferred to keep zonealarm!! I'm Scared!!!!!
