    dual monitors with win2k

I'm now leaning towards using one AGP and one PCI card. I've heard these have to have a certain chipset (or maybe even the same chipset) in order for dual monitors to be supported. Is this correct? I'm leaning towards using one 64MB card with Video Out, but I'm not sure how powerful the other one needs to be. For doing lots of 3D modeling, if I want to use dual monitor support, should the other card be powerful as well, or does it matter? Any info on this would be great. Thanks. zerod

    dual monitors with win2k

I want to be able to use two monitors on my computer. I've been reading about the ATI Radeon VE dual head card and many people claim it doesn't work well with Win2000. Can I enable dual monitors if I use 1 AGP card and 1 PCI card? I mostly do video editing and 3D work (very little gaming). Any help or experience on this issue would be greatly appreciated. zerod

    udma problem

Currently I am running both Win98 and Win2000 on my computer. I have 2 Maxtor HDD installed which are both udma compliant. In Win98, both harddrives are recognized as udma and I get good transfer rates with both. In Win2000, only the primary master is recognized as udma. The primary slave is set to PIO only, and I get terrible transfer rates with it. I have the primary slave set as "udma if available" but it doesn't recognize it. I have made changes to the registry to recognize it as udma, but nothing works. If I take the HDD out and reinstall it, would my problem be fixed? I don't know where to go from here. Help please. Dave
  4. Any help on the following would be greatly appreciated. I recently upgraded a system running Win95 to Win2000 Professional. The installation process appeared to work fine. The problem I am having now is that I am unable to install many different programs. I can install MSOffice and Adaptec software, but I can't install any drivers from my motheboard disk or from my Video Card disk. Various other programs won't work either. The error message I get is: "ntvdm.exe has generated errors" and it goes on to tell me I have to close down the program. It was recommended that I install Service Pack 1, which I did, but this did not change anything. Then I installed Service Pack 2, and still no change. Could this be hardware conflicts? bad memory? I need help!
