Hi, I just bought some PC2700 SODIMM ram for my dell laptop. I made sure it was the right type and everything but when I try to boot it up, the little lock thingy with an "A" on it just blinks, then it shuts off. The notebook has 256 mb already and I wanted to add 256 more. When I boot with the other ram it works fine, but whenever the new ram is in it (alone or with other) it doesn't boot. Anyone have a clue what is up? Specs: Dell Latitude D505 256 MB 2700 1.4GHZ Pentium 4m Windows XP Pro Thanks, Pat

Is the game xp-compatible? If not try to run it using compatibility mode, which may change important xp settings so the game can be played. -Pat

You really shouldnt have any problems with that because both 1.5 and 1.6 work on different platforms, ergo, they are seen as two different programs. If you are having trouble, you should use the system restore feature, works great. Uses the registry as it was when it saved last, go back to a time before you had 1.6. -pat

Hello, I recently purchased an asus a7n8x-vm and Athlon Barton 2500+. I've been having some issues with the video card that I use. I have an AGP geforce4 ti-4200 and when I go into the device manager of Windows XP Pro it tells me the video card is a PCI device....I'm like wah? The video also seems to be running a little slow. I'm new to this mobo so I have no clue if I'm supposed to turn something off or what. Any ideas you have are great. Thank you

Well, I did the most obvious thing im my situation and started from scratch, it seems I had done an initial format as an ntfs quick. And we all know this can cause problems on a new partition or hard drive, you must do a full format. Thank you all for your suggestions, Pat

No, I was never able to succesfully initialize xp pro. It gets to the blue moving thing and goes no further. I can boot into Home normally if I choose so from the boot menu. Thanks

Hi Again, Well, when I try to boot into safe mode under the xp pro copy it doesn't get past the file list. Just freezes after that, you think a re-install will do much? Thanks

Hello Fellow Techies, I have a slight problem. Here we go. I had Windows XP Home :x , and (well still have) I made a new partition on my 40gig drive and installed XP Pro. Now everytime it boots into Pro I get some kind of Video error and never get past the blue moving thing. Any suggestions on that? Specs: Athlon XP 1700+ 40gig HDD (29gig partition for Home and 10gig for pro) 512 MB RAM Geforce4 Ti 4200 64 MB 29.42 drivers on Home Thanks, Pat

Hello, I have a slight problem. Whenever I run Disk Cleanup I get a prompt saying that its calculating how much space it would free if it compressed older files. Its getting to the point where it takes 5-10 mins just to even get into the disk cleanup. Is there any way to stop windows from calculating this information?! If you can help that'd be great, Thanks, -Pat
