Its an AGP 2x/4x compatible card ummm, i dunno since shipping and handling will be a bitch, ill say, 45 bucks? it retailed for 130. It did not come with a GPU fan so you might wanna invest it that, it didnt give me any probs like I said but just to be safe. It will also come with the driver and application disk and a PowerDVD Software disk, (i have no clue 8) ) and it useless user manual!

actually yes, I have a Gainward GeForce2 MX 32 Meg.....but its majorly used...I used to overclock it regularly but it gave me no probs.....still.....you live in Oregon 8)

anyway, I bought a santa cruz 5.1 channel surround sound card (heard it was good) but I got a prob. Seems my card doesnt wanna use a dma, so im stuck with a system hang everytime a sound is played, no matter what...start-up sound....mp3.....wav....logging on/offline.....aim....cs.....everything I need to know how to manually make my card use an empty dma slot so i can enjoy its wonderful sound with having my fkn mouse skip round and shit.... thanks

well, dude, got all the new drivers for everything....still no luck....isnt there like a manual way to force the card to use an empty DMA slot?...I dont care if its long and tedious to do....its worth it

I got me a asus a7a266, athlon xp 1700+, 512 pc 133 ram, gf2 mx400, soundblaster ensoniq 128, win98 se I'd just like to know why i cannot play 2 sounds at once! If im having music match jukebox open playing music and I go into counter-strike the sounds for cs dont work! Before I bought the SoundBlaster i had a aureal vortex and the sound was totally fine, but I coulndt use it with my system, it didnt seem like the sound emulator or some **** i dunno....is it my sound card?

You ever been playin Counter-Strike on 56k and all of a sudden you get this fkn STUPID *** connection problem or packet loss ****? Well I have and it sucks major azz. Anyway Ive checked out the wires, no problem, checked the ISP they say i dunno (no help at all with Earthlink), checked Win98's internal connection siht, optimized.... What am I doin wrong?

hey, more info is needed here, whats the brand of mouse? what slot is it connected to? usb or ps2? I've had probs with usb on my asus a7a266...using my ms intelli exploror 3.0

What kind of monitor do you have? The new drivers may have unlocked a refrsh rate not available before. Since both games had an increase of 20 fps.

try just installing directx 8.0a, very few games (currently) use dx 8.1 anyway Or actually microsoft just released the beta dx 9.0 try that

the spec's on the a7v266-e are very good u can get em at the asus website www.asus.com. Its based on the VIA chipset which is a great chipset. I currently have the a7a266-e and its not bad....its based on a totally different chipset (the ali magik m1647) but newayz asus is a good company

The a7n's are the nForce chipsets right? ermm dumb question sorry

I know that the C and E models are different revisions....id go with the E model since it seems to be the most updated.

Hello, I need some tech advice I just got a new MotherBoard and Processor (A7A266 and AMD XP 1700+ i am running Windows 98SE, 512 pc-133 ram) Im having some trouble with the USB, When i first tried to set it up there was a problem with the BIOS so i had to flash and re-program. When i finished with that i tried some games with my new mouse (MS Intellimouse Explorer 3.0) and something was screwy, Whenever i loaded something the mouse would stop responding and skip around, when i tried to play Max Payne the mouse would stop responding all together and leave me hanging with guys shooting at me...even when i did the tests in Direct-X the mouse would freeze and id have to restart!! HELP!! thnx

it probably will wear off but it hasnt since. I reformatted a little over 6 months ago and it still is smooth a ever....except for a little sound trouble

I have a SB ensoniq audio PCI 128 sound card and its buggin me. I moved from a p3 450MHz system and a intel 440bx motherboard to an amd xp 1700+ and an asus a7a266 motherboard. When i did this my older sound card didnt want to make the switch and decided to freeze when windows tried detecting the drivers for it. The older card was an aureal vortex card. Now that i got a new card the sound is fine but i can only play one sound at one time. if im listening to music and on AOL Instant Messenger the sound from the IM will not work and vise versa with the music. I wondered if this was a driver issue but i tried to delete the old drivers and they wont go away! i dont want to format.....help! thnx

did u upgrade to xp from 98 or me? if you did u might have some mixing issues. I thats the case your better off to do a clean install. Be sure to use the format /u c:\ command to delete everything. I reformatted with just format c:\ from ME back to 98 and some features from ME stayed.
