    Umax 600P scanner and W2K?

Thanks for the info zen69x . Unfortunately I have the 600P (parallel), not the 600S (SCSI) . Saw some info that states that there are to versions of the 600P. One (the one I have) has an internal power supply, is older, and is incompatible with w2k. The newer ones have an external power supply and are compatible with w2k. That site you listed shows you can use the 610 driver for ones with the external power supply. Guess that listing on NT Compatible is erroneous and should be updated . Bob

    Umax 600P scanner and W2K?

Has anyone got the Umax 600P scanner to work under Windows 2000????? The NT Compatible Hardware section lists it as: "Umax 600P scanner (Umax) Yes W2000 03/01 not working using win2k driver builtin (scans all black!), but Vistascan software from Umax works fine. Yes now you can scan WHILE cruising the net!" Who posted this info? How did they do it? What version of Vistascan? What driver did they use? How do you install it? I tried Vistascan 2.43 with its driver installed and with the 2000 600p driver installed. 2000 and Umax 2.43 600P driver lets scanner run-- but scanns are all black. Letting Vistascan 2.43 install its driver causes w2k to boot to a BSOD UDNT.SYS STOP error. Saw another post about getting the 600P to work under w2k-- but they didn't tell how . Bob
