You need to find the driver disk for the manufacturer of the IDE controller. If it's built onto the motherboard which is my guess, and because it's a Dell, it'll likely be Intel's website you'll need to search. Find out what model of the motherboard.

Why would you want to do this? Just make 2 computer accounts in the domain. Also, the machine account's password is changed periodically so eventually, even if you get this working it will break when the password is changed from one OS and then you boot up in the other OS. You can disable this password changing, but that nullifies some of the security of having the PC in the domain in the first place.

I've got this very same scanner running under Windows Server 2003. Go here: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/suppo...latform=Windows and grab the latest, 5.71a TWAIN driver. Also, I'm not entirely sure as I have it running, but you may need the Windows Image Aquisition service to be running for it to work as well.

The 2003 server will act as a PDCe. I believe that you will need to ensure that the NT4 workstations are at SP6a though. (Actually above SP3 due to some security settings on 2003.) Windows 2003 interim mode would seem to be what he is after, if he has any plans on leaving any NT 4 BDC's connected. Open the DHCP management console and right click the server. Go to the DNS tab and one of the options says "Dynamically update DNS A and PTR records for DHCP clients that do not request updates (for example, clients running Windows NT 4.0)" I'm not sure if you'll need to restart the DHCP service for this to take effect or not however but I'd likely advise you do for good measure. That's one possibility. Please tell us: What OS the clients are using? Are they joined to the Win2k3 domain? Are the clients primary DNS server set to the IP address of your Win2k3 server? Oh, and lastly, are the DHCP and DNS services both (either) hosted on the Win2k3 server or elsewhere?

You'll need the NT 4 Resource kit for that. Lookup Time Synchronizing Service (Y2K) (Timeserv.exe ) There's a bunch of other tools included in the resource kit,. Tools in the NT 4 Resource Kit MSKB article regarding timeserv.exe Alternately, this is native in Win2k and above.

What is the power rating on the power supply? A cold boot, full shutdown and then power up, will place a greater load on the power supply then a warm boot, or reboot. My suggestion would be to get something greater than 350watts if you don't already have that. If you do, see if you can get another to test with as perhaps it is going bad?

First, I will suggest that you title the thread better and you'll be more likely to receive help. To find out what kind of graphics adapter and DirectX version you have, click start then run. In the open box, type dxdiag and press enter. On the bottom of the first page there you will see your DirectX version. On the display tab, the device shown on top left will be your graphics adapter type. As for up[censored] DirectX, latest released version is 9.0c, go here: http://www.microsoft.com/windows/directx/default.aspx Ensure that DirectX is up to date, and get the latest drivers for your video card as well. If you're still having issues, let us know what card you have and likely someone will have some other suggestion for you at that time.

Then and my guess from the looks of it, the board has ATA controller, SATA controller, and onboard RAID as well? What connection and in what configuration do you have the hard drives installed? That is likley my guess as to why you are having issues. You will need to get the proper 64bit drivers for the mode you are using and press F6 during setup ,you will need a floppy (or create a custom install CD) to supply the drivers to the OS, I have heard that a USB floppy will work too, but I can't confirm.

If you uninstalled the service pack, likely the firewall will still remain enabled. BTW, the firewall only blocks inbound connections and if that is the issue, it normally prompts you to continue blocking or unblock inbound connections to that app. Perhaps you do not see this due to games being fullscreen? Why not research the ports that the game requires and simply add them to be allowed.
