  1. Hi Again. I am having difficulty with my master browser losing elections on my network. The network currently consists of multiple Win2K workstations and 2K Advanced Servers with an NT4 Server as PDC (not an ideal situation, but anyway). Every week or so, the PDC loses an election to one of the other machines (random) and I then lose all file sharing functionality on the PDC, nobody can browse to it either. I have made registry changes to all the 2K servers and a few of the workstations to not maintain server list and set the "isdomainmaster" entry to "no" or "false", but the problem keeps re-occurring. I have been nutting this one out with Microsoft tech support for the last month and a half with no joy. It has been mentioned that it could be related to a corrupt WINS database but im not sure. Any ideas? Cheers
  2. Hi All. I want to replicate the entire directory structure of my PDC to my BDC (for fail-over purposes) using the directory replication feature. If possible, I want it to replicate a few times a day. I dont use login scripts. Is there a way to do this? I have gone through a bunch of confusing documentation about replication and cant seem to figure it out. The PDC has multiple drives in a RAID 5 configuration with about 2.5 million files amounting to about 55GB. Can it only replicate scripts, since it seems to only point to the script directory? I have made one or two attempts but nothing happens. I have tried to just specify the drive letter I want to export in the "From Path" box and set the sub-directories under "Manage" but no go. I have created a space on the BDC and specified it in the "Import" section in its replication app, with no joy. Am I dreaming? Is there a third party app of some sort? Any help or comments will be much appreciated. Thanx P.S. Is it just me or is the whole replication thing confusing??
