Not sure if WinXP as ATTRIB but you could find out. If it does, use attrib at see the properties of the file. I would disable windows xp file pertection then boot from a 98 bootdisk with ntfsdos on it. Delete the dang thing, and go back into windows and turn on file pertection again.

I also have a voodoo card, but mine is a Voodoo 3 3500 tv/capture thingy :-) I go to http://www.voodoofiles.com to get what I need for the card. I'm using that card with win2k pro just fine.

Edit+ kicks butt!! With all the plugins for it and stuff. I use it to edit my Python, Perl and Kickstart scripts. Very fast and easy to use.

The only reason I have one is because that's what came with my HS. I've been looking at quiter ones, that produce the same amount of air flow. Any suggestions?

Of course that depends on if my AC is running or not. :-) I've seen it idle at 26C and be at full load running at 35C Just depends on ambient room temp for me. Mine is not overclocked. Standard CPU
-
At idle - 28C Full Hard @ss Load - 40C I maxed the cpu out at 100% for 5 hours, and the temp never went over 40C

Here is mine.. Nothing special.

Hey guys/gals.. Just wondering what type of video capture cards are people using these days. I'm wanting to grab some Star Trek TNG off of the tube and make me some SVCD's so I can watch them while I'm at work and share with my brother. Any suggestions? I've looked at the ATI All in Wonder 8500DV and the Creative Labs Video Blaster Digital VCR card. What do you all use?? Thanks for the input!!!!
-
Yes, I do live up the road from you! Cool.. BTY, the link for the shs top link is broken. I like going out to vcdhelp.com but there are so many types of cards out there I can't decide wich one to chose. I can't belive how hard it is to find a card that will allow me to record an hour of Star Trek TNG off of my cable so I can put in in either Divx or SVCD. I guess I will keep looking. Thanks so much for everyones help on the cards.

Quote: No the ATI Radeon All in Wonder can not cap MPEG2 720x480 being it Interesting.. It says on the ATI website that the 8500DV will. Here is a copy of the line straight from the ATI web page... Capture still images and digital video at up to 720x480 30 frames-per-second resolution with no loss of quality
-
I got a Voodoo 3 3500 that can do about that. I need something that can do say around 640x480 realtime(ish). From what I've been hearing the All in wonder Radeon 7500 will capture at 720x480 or something close I think.

I've got a AthlongXP 1900+ and a Abit KR7A-133R ( KT266a ) I think the performace is great with my system. I'm using a OCZ Goliath HS with a 80mm delta fan. I like to rip my dvd's to divx, and I'm getting currently 22 - 24 frames per sec. And my processor under full load during this never gets about 40C. Now I DO NOT know how well a P4 would do this since I've never had the ability or $$$ to run a P4 system, but I would like to know what other people are doing with thier systems. I know it's kinda off topic, but I'm courius as hell. Have fun...
