the MP CPU is just an XP CPU with its L5 bridges joint! All you have to do with an Athlon XP is to join he L5 bridges!

I agree, these so called accelerators do nothing really. They MAY speed up browsing, but for donwloads nothing, cause its the bandwidth that matters.

hi all, Well, this is the deal. My bro and i both have PC's with Counterstrike loaded onto. Whenever i try and connect to his games it works fine...., but when he tried to connect to me he cant. I have disabled all of Xp's firewall crap, but with no result. the error he gets is: "Could not complete connection attempt to server" And on my PC it sais "<username> timed out" Im using an intel card while hes got a 3com. PC specs dont matter cause it worked before, and this happened after a re-installation of his Windows 98 SE. I use XP pro Sp1. Thnx for your help

The NIC's have no problems. As i have said, i am connected via a hub, we r both on the same workgroup and i have re-installed the network to no effect. The network is fine for file sharing, ICS and any gaming, except for HL based games.

Well, yes we are using the same version AND same CD Key, but it doesnt matter cause it has worked before. On the ports issue, how do i specifiy what port for HL to use?

One more thing, we can conenct using ANY other game, AOE2, Galactic battlegrounds, Worms....., its only Half-Life based games.....

Well port is nomral, 27015, its a LAN game, not p2p, over a netowkr connecting via a hub only me n my bro on it. Its not a dedicated server. His network Ip is 192.168.0.95, while mine is 192.168.0.1. Anything esle needed?

Currentley have Dual PII 300Mhz ;( yes its ancient, but im waiting for christmas so the PC prices are dirt cheap, then im gettin a P4 system

Theres also the space it would need, aditional bandwidth for the images etc.... Also this site isnt run automtically, all the news is added by good old Phillip.

They were right about AMD and their Athlon XP 2700/2800 on OCt 1st release.

AS has been said its most likley either a BIOS problem, Hardware or Graphcs card not inserted corectly, give us ur mobo type and we can ehlp more!
