Its true, if you go into device manager and system you can see ISA something around there! -
NV18 & NV28:NVIDIA Chips with AGP-8x Flavor - a waste?

Its just a hyped up thing, soon itl all be PCI-X and 3GIO....then no more AGP or PCI or ISA crap! LOL -
Seems like ur gonna b a good father clutch! Good on ya!

Keep waiting... isnt Doom3 supposed to be out next year in Q1?

Have a read of this: http://www.neoseeker.com/news/articles/headlines/Hardware/1852/ Now tell me, since this was in august. Would mobo makers have changed their designs by now? Its becuase I am looking to build myself a system, and i want a futureproof (Hyperthreading support and 3ghz+), USB 2, AGP 8X mobo with DDR-RAM. I dont mind the chipset being VIA or SiS, but i just want it to be damned futureproof.
-
Its a new enough chipset aint it? or is it the mobo manufacturers that put that voltage thingy on?
-
Do you think the VIa P4X400 will have the extra voltage regulator thingy.
-
I think that the recent intel chipsets can be upgraded to hyperthread support with a simple BIOS update.
-
According to that link it doesnt have AGP 8x, and thats one of the core things i want. i dont know why intel, who have made the AGP 3.0 spec, wont put it onto their chipsets.
-
cool, thanx il do that. Does the 845PE feature dual DDR support or not?
-
Yes, maybe not u, but us cost concious peeps do care. Its just i want an all in one goood mobo!
-
yes but how about hte power regulator needed for p4's over 3Ghz? They need 70 watts, instead of the normal 60watts.

Hi all, Just to say there has been a release date on the AthlonXP 2700+ and 2800+ along with the long awaited 333Mhz FSB which gives them possiblities of much higher clock speeds! Read the news here!

I must say tho, SIS has recently slowed down its Socket A chipsets release, but has increased its P4 chipsets release. via has done the exact opposite. Something maybe going on...Via may have handed the P4 market over to SIS, and SIS give the socket A market to VIA. Afterall, imy friend has had hisVIA board running for 24 hours for 2 weeks, and not a single crash or lockup has occured! I think via are doing something right for once..
-
hehe its me! Sorry, i havent seen any rule against it tho! If you bring in a rule, i will gladly abide by it.
-
Have u made sure the PSU is compatible with the new mobo, all the cables are plugged in corectly, fuses checked? there could be a whole load of differnet factors!
-
could be some config errors, or you might have not taken accross ALL of the files/put hem in the right directory, so when Q3 tries to use them it cant..... P.S great site you have here! 8)

Well if u guys say so, im not talking on a large scale like u guys, im just talking about a few (maybe 5-10). I know that Intel, SiS are better than the VIA chipsets, but their boards are also more expensive. For all the "Budget concious" people put there VIA seems a good alternative, even if you may sacrifice some stability.
-
I see, now did any of these people ever try to update their 4in1's or their BIOS? AS the 2 solutions fix 95+% of problems.
-
Well, its a hard to face up, but it is true. if you keep up[censored] 4in 1's and BIOS, then theres no reason why they are not as stable as any other chipset. Me and a friend both have had/currently have VIA chipsets, and as long as we keep the 4in1's and BIOS up to date, we are rock solid! Four and Twenty wrote: Quote: We couldn't handle the tech support it was out of hand and different everytime. what a nightmare Tell me, where all of these complaints from expert/inter PC users, or just your average joe, who bought the PC for surfing, e-mails etc...
-
I dont think there is one, i think it is pre-set in the firmware.
-
If you make sure of keeping the 4in1's up to date and also keeping your BIOs up to date, then the VIA will be stable!

Hi all, I was wondering, can i use PC133 SD-RAM when my motherboard has a 400Mhz FSB (QDR 4x100) with my P4 mounted on a Jetway P4XFA? If i set my FSB @ 100, but set my DRAM clock to 133 what will happen? This is becuase i dont know what RAM to get; PC100 or PC133. One more question, my mobo supports PC2100/2700 DDR RAM, is there any real world gain by using DDR RAM over SD-RAM? Thnx!

Its ok, but not excellent, if you kept on searching you could have found a better one, maybe a good P4.

Help!!!! ClonyXXL doesn´t work on my P3 600 with Win200 SP3!
