Dosbox looks great but not for this app. it was written for win9x, and I believe it used directdraw. I installed the game and the latest patch under win2k, and the card expansion set, and it wont run. So no bigie, i have a fast PC I fire up virtual pc. Works good but too fast when runing around the forest. As for the throttle CPU, I dont see the otion either, but I distinctly rememeber when i got my email from conectix when 5.0 came out that a feature to throttle cpu was in there. Hoing someone here would know which would be faster than an email to connectix. 42 degrees is fine. Dopnt worry about it. they are designed to run hot. My Athlon MP 2600+ cpu's run around 50 degtrees, no matter what Im doing. (Retail HSF + Arctic silver)

My Athlon 2600+ are @ 2133 Mhz. My c: Disk is a western digital 20 gig ata 100. the drive is partitioned in 2, c: is 3 gig (os) d: is the rest (15 gig) and is fat32. My ram is ECC DDR, pc2100, and cas 2.5. (ECC slows it down some but I'm all about stability) And pc2100 is the highest the AMD 760 MPX chipset supports. I was surprised by my lousy ram read performance. The benchmark did say my ram performance was "extremely low" for a machine of this class. Is this ecc in action?

Do this: IN ORDER 1) Goto device manager and upgrade the driver of your "computer> ACPI uniprocessor PC" Change it to "ACPI multiprocessor PC" Power down. Install the chip. Power on and go into bios immediately. Make sure HT is enabled. If so, boot windows normally. Windows will find all your hardware again and it wil be fine.

In a non domain model XP home will do you fine for most things, an upgrade there should be unnecessary. If you go domain it will be a major pain with XP home. As for 98 and Xp clashing, I've not heard of it and I mix them without issues. For a lan this small I do reocmmend installing netbeui protocal on all machines, it's safe and reliable. and easy for setup. For the xp machines netbeui is in the valueadd folder you must folow the instrucitons to install it as m$ does not suport it anymore.

Ive got a 2003 server running ics. Which ports do I have to direct to my pc behind the ics server, and do theyu go in the incoming or outgoing? To get the microphone working when I initiate the chat or accept the chat. id like to be able to do both. One more q: Does netmeeting use the exact same ports? (I dont use netmeeting much but just curious)

It is a non production 2003 RC 2, runing a neverwinternights server. it was instaled that way just for giggles, and at a convienient time later will be reinstalled as a 2K workstation.

(I need to capture 48000 hz for DVD authroing and the onboard can only capture 44100 Hz. Also with the onboard audio when I play ago of mytholgy it doesnt make the clicking sound when i click soomething.

2 options. Remove ram down to 512 MB or less, or you need to tweak your vcache, otherwise it will crahs and say you're out ofmemory. goto gogle search and type 512 vcache out of memory youll find all the info yu need how to do it. the program cachemen can also do it for you graphically.

I'm ujsing a promise ultra 100 TX2, and a promise Ultra 133 TX2. They are cheap too. Should be about 60$ U.S. They are smoking fast, and each of my 5 hard drives have their own dedicated channel. If my case was big enough, I could add 5 more drives for a total of 10 too.

I jave Dual AMD 2600+ system, with 5 Hard drives and 1 CDRW and 1 DVD RW. I could easily fit 2 more hard drives if i needed. I use promise controlers, 2 of them in fact. And my pc has 3 1/2 rive bays all the way to bottom. If they were all 250 GB disks itd be more than a terrabyte

Culd you splain, exactly, where windows fonts size setting is? I see alot of settings in appearance and i make alot of fonts really big, but some fonts like the one of save dialog box, are still default size and unreadable on my tv

Too, use a low level format that as written for your disk from tyhe same company. using another companies low level formatting app will not flag the bad sectors as unusable, it will just plain write zeros.
