for example, the number on the right of card is a 2. The opponent card right beside it on the right, IT's LEFT number is 3. that wins. However if you win on the other sides, you win overall. The connecting numbers where they touch merelytry to trump each other, highest wins. Hope this helps.

My apologies for not being clearer... I remember when I first tried it it didn't work either.... The program works well but is not exactly intuitive.. Anyway click the link below. It shows 2 screenshots of what you need to do. It's fairly straighforward but you have to do it in the exact order shown. Also after you add a button you'll need to shutdown and restart Internet Explorer. Hope this helps.. http://www.sn.sd50.bc.ca/button.rar Please note this link will only be available for a few days!

Short answer, no. You can use an old tweakUI to autolog you onto the domain though, but this keeps the password in clear text, and is auto; the user can't just type it in. Joining a domain in this manner may also be in vioplation of your EULA , better read the EUL if you plan to do it. Another way that works, is to type in the path to the file you want, then it will prompt for password. Type it in and you will get the data.

I will have one digital internet connection to a hub in computer lab all on switches. I want the rest of the computers to go wireless. The building is too long for one wap, I did tests and 2 waps will cover the building. How can I set it so the waps will rebroadcast eith others traffic so one end of bullding can go over to other end of building? thelab will be wired and must provide a proxy internet conection for all the WIFI computers in the offices. I've used wifi units before, but I have never trie to use 2 and have them connect, no idea how to do it.

I did more research and it turns out its autmoatic, just give each wap the same SSID and channel/encryption. each wap will have no trouble reaching each other, its small building, just a little bit too big.

W2K registry backup - how-to and onto what media
duhmez replied to SnapperOne's topic in Everything New Technology
The uswer.dat and system.dat wont work thats not for NT so forget that. The reason for exporeting the reg from regedit is m,any keys wont export because even the administrator does not have acxcess to these hives. Best way: run nTbackup>backup "system state" This will grab your entire reg. -
Check out the app "junction" It's function was previously available if you buy the Win2k resource kit. It makes a folder able to be referenbced as a completely different folder. I have 7 hard drives in my pc, this is therefore a godsend.

i HAVE BEEN MOUNING A DRIE AS A FOLDER. tHIS HOWEVER IS MUCH MORE FLEXIBLE. The drive as folder is not implemented well; for one programs can't tell there is free space on the mount, and you cant delete fodlers without holding shift. I will splain the problem wit the lqck of reproted frees[ace. My f: was full, so I bought another drive and mounted the new drive as f:\games. I got o install 1 2 gig game, with 60 gig free on the f:\games drive. the game refuses to install because f: reports as only having 1 gig free. -
Modify permission settings on multiple folders quickly
duhmez posted a topic in Everything New Technology
Here is the issue. Folder full of users folders, the root folder has \domain\admin full control. Then when a user folder is created I have to remove inheritable rights so I can give permission to ust the \user and the domain admin so everyone else must stay out. Now about users or so all with their permissions for their flder only. I ran into an issue with a user accidentally deleting their data, and bckup failed. now I want to create a group for many users, and deny the delete permission, but leave change permission. if they want to delete files they will have to go through an admin(which is fine.) Since inheriable rights is disabled I will need to go through ech folder permission setting one at a time and specifiy evrything. or will I? If so, so be it, but would there hve been a better way of setting this up originally? if I do a new server sometime I'd like to o it right up front. It seems really weak to have to have inheritance on or off completely, without the ability to have inheritance AND explicit. (back when it was set up deny delete could have been set and today all would be well, but since it hasn't..) Doing al of them really isn't that big of a deal, just some time, but for the future i'd like to set it up better in the first place, which can account for a global change like this, if anyone has any ideas. If again later i want to apply a common extra permission to all folders, I will have to go through and do it all over again otherwise...... -

Modify permission settings on multiple folders quickly

Lets say, x:\users inherits and propogates. All the fodlers in users have inheritance currently disabled. Let's say I want to add "\domain\joeshmoegroup" to have full control in all folders residing inside x:\users, but leave x:\users itself unmodified. help with this would be very much appreciated. -
You can mess with boot.ini right lcick my computer>properties>advanced>startup and recover. there is a U for safely changing the boot.ini.

Printer Access Denied after joining domain, shared files OK
duhmez replied to cwells's topic in Networking
Are the clients pulling from config.pol file or ntconfig.pol file? If so this is an unsupported and broken was and will cause issues, duno if it will cause this issue, but it's something to check. (.pol files pulled from netlogon on nt clients is not supported in active directory environment, even in mixed mode.) -
Boot.ini must reside on c: it won't work from d: or e: use this as a boot.ini on c: -------cut here ------- [boot loader] timeout=3 default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS [operating systems] multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="I Wrecked my Boot.ini File!" /fastdetect This will get you into xp at least, then you can work on fixing your boot.ini to get win2k back

It means the mouse button is broken. A teeny little piece of metal is busted and conects/reconnects really uber fast, like a short.

Did you patch it? The latest patch for it fixes just about eveything. If it has the latest patch, I'd guess it's a driver issue; update the video drivers, or, if alrready current, downgrade video drivers. Of course, only do that if you have the game patched up first. The junction system is cool, but it sux how the game forces you to do the summons constantly, way too many times, too long too watch.

For one it sounds like your motherboard has builin in nic and you also installed one; one is getting reported as eing unplugged the other is working fine. It could not hav ethe red x icon in corner and still serve the webpage, it would not be possible for that to happen without a second unplugged nic. 1) is it a DNS server 2) is it a dhcp server 3) is your DHCP server set to give out your local DNS server address? (The win2k server) 4) if it is a dhcp server is the dhcp server authorized? 5) did the client join the domain successfully? 6) Can you ping the server? 7) Are you positive it is a domian contro0ller, you ran DCpromo and it completed successfully?

LAN speeds and SATA on KT600, compared to any other chipset
duhmez replied to Hipshot's topic in Hardware
The lan bandwidth + the hard drive bandwidth + everything else on the PCI son't be close to full, even when doing a highres video capture on a pci card, you still have plenty of room. nothing is fast enough to tax it. If a pci card didnt do bus mastering right and was making your cpu wait alot, then in theory it could slow it down. In practice thugh, it should not. -
i would be backing up all important data from that drive before i did anything else. run chkdsk /R /X c$ (or whatever drive it is) You may need to reboot to do the scan. If the scan comes out OK, I would delete the partition and make a new one, after backing up the data. (Use disk doctor if you have it too.)

maybe try disabling netbios over IP in advanced tcpip properties>wins tab, and install IPX/SPX with netbios support. See if you can transfer files fast then. this will determine if IP is the culprit or not.
