I've seen a few Presario models (AMD) which have standards sockets, so I guess they're upgradable.
-
I hate that ;( ....., and BTW, don't download that crap.
-
Nice read, thx.

I'm running Xp Pro at the time, so I dunno if this would work, but have you tried using "add/remove programs" then windows components?

It sounds cool and very useful, besides We won't have lots of topics scattered all around the site about the same games...., in other words, it would help the forums organization.

I don't think so,.....maybe it's me, but I couldn't do it even in Winxp. Get a cheap one, or an expensive one, but PCI PLZ!! -
Try getting the lastest Service Pack.

Well, hello guys, I'm back once again, ehhehe.....I didn't know where to post this topic since there's no forum oriented specifically to hardware with no relation to the software, so here's my thing.....I got this thinkpad model 600 and the issue is that when I try to boot it gives two errors: 161 & 163, preceeded by two short beeps, then it will prompt me for a password (piece of cake), so I hit Enter and that's it, it says "OK", but then goes to a blue/white screen with an error message and the numbers 00161 & 00163 (seemed to the CMOS setup screen), and at this point there're two buttons available: OK and CANCEL. No matter which one I hit, it will go to another screen (seemed to the previous), with the same "ERROR" message, and with an arrow pointing to something that looks as a book (it seems to me that it refers to read the manual), then the paltopo just freezes, and the only thing I can do is to turn it off, turn it on and repeat the cycle over and ove and over. I changed the backup battery, I've cleared the CMOS, and nothing seems to work. Now I'm suspecting of the MB, maybe it's damaged (no please!! ), so please, I need 'ur help. Thanx in advanced.

NAahh, I already did that, and I knew the meaning of the beeps, but no way, it just doesn't get into the BIOS setup. Well, thx anyway.

i was surfing the web a little and found that it could be a 2.0 USB (at some website, somebody was talking about his system and te MB had that chipset, and he mentioned that the USB ports were 2.0)...., well, I'm not sure about it, but it can give a clue about how to start your search.

Anybody??

This one is hitting the ass ;(

Get Lavasoft's Ad-aware. Once I had that problem and I had a very nice spyware that was doing it. Then you can try to customize your search and import settings and it couls work.

Quote: open your word .doc, select all the text then copy it. Open paint (or whatever imaging program you like) then paste the text to the image file. Then save as... if you have a lot of formatting, tables, etc. in your .doc they might not copy over correctly... I just made this up, but checked it on a simple .doc and it works. YMMV Jim Kool!! :x , I didn't know it could be that easy!

I feel kinda silly asking THIS in THIS forum, since i don't use Win9x based systems, but whatever, just for general culture, what's the limit of pc's that i can connect to a workgroup based on win98?, and i mean without a dedicated server or any NT OS; just a group of pc's connected to a HUB or a Switch.....if there's a limit, what is it? Thanks in advanced.

Hi guys, I'm back. I have such an useless question, and it's how can i generate a BSOD on winxp pro, but i want a really ugly one, hehe, just to joke...and other one is how does windows generate them, i mean if the system is crashed, where does windows take the resources from to generate all the bla, bla, bla stuffs and if it's generated on the exact moment or if there're pre-created BSOD like files and it just use them. Thx, that's all.

This is the issue: recently a costumer loss all of his data from his HD due to a Virus work. We tried many diferents softwares to recover the information and the only way I could do it was using Easy Recovery's Raw Recover option, and in this mode it recovers almost the whole information but with the incovenient that it won't have the original names anymore, instead of it the files will be created on folder named "dir01.doc" for the documents or "dir02.xls" for excel worksheets and the files will be named "Fil01.doc", "fil02.doc" and so on....so that's the problem, we have now a lot of info, most of it is usable but we're needing the original names of the files. Someone told me there's a tool from MS's site to do that but I haven't found it, and if that isn't true, which tool can I use to do it?? This is urgent, so plz, any help will be aprecciated and thx in advanced.
