I need a commercial alternative to Veritas Backup, a software which allows me to backup all of the info from one OR several servers to a Tape drive, either internal or external (such as a DELL Powervault). Hi guys. I' having the weirdest problem with this software, here is my scenario: A W2K3 Box, which act as an Internet server, with 2 Network cards (1 for WAN interface, and the other to my LAN), and Im using Kerio Winroute Firewall software to do the NAT work and to limit bandwidth to certain local IP addresses, ONLY for those 2 tasks. The problem and having is that some PC's (specifically, 3) from my LAN are having problems to receive emails through Outlook express or Microsoft Outlook, since several emails are blanked (as well as "Subject" and "From" fields). And I know this is happenning because of KWF, because I can check those e-mail accounts through web-mail based server and all of the emails are there, just fine, but whenever you try to receive them using Outlook express or MS Outolook, some emails start to get blanked and then the connection to POP3 server is lost. I uninstalled KWF to verify that in fact it was causing that, and I confirmed my suspects. I have no idea of what to do about this, I did not find any help about this bug on internet either, I really hope you guys could help me.

Im afraid to tell you it is not that easy. It's not like you will find a magic button to remove lyrics, and it's done. Anyway, there are some programs which have some "specific frequency removal" presets which correspond to the human voice range, but it may also remove some frequencies which correspond to certain instruments. The real trick is knowing very well about equalization. Once you can deal with it, you'll do it fine with any software. PS: I use Adobe Audition, works as a charm

Hi guys, I need serious help on implementing an Exchange server. Let's say I'm a dummie on this area, but at least I have started to do something. The basic problem that I have is that I can receive e-mails ONLY from my internal network (of course, I can SEND emails inside and out of my network), but , this is, I suposse, because my Exchange server isn't public on the internet. So here is what I've done: 1-We have a domain name on Businesspremium.com named unicomputos.com and I created a sub domain (for testing purposes) named exchange.unicomputos.com, and set up its IP to our Internet address which is a fixed IP (200.42.211.176, yeh hack me :-P). 2-We have a Netgear firewall in our network, so I've fowarded the ports 25 and 110 to my local exchange server (192.168.0.8). ...But nothing happens, so i made a search on the web, and this forum too, and I've founded that I need to "do something" with my MX Records, and here is where all of my doubts appear: businesspremium.com does not allow me to do anything with the MX records (first I supossed it had to do something with them), so i guess that I have to talk to my ISP to do this work, am I right?, also, I'm not really sure about what kind of information would They ask me to do this, remember I'm a newbie, so I'm pretty unsure about all this. Hope I've explained myself clearly (my english is not vey good), and hope that u guys can help me, 'cause I'm really curious about how all this Exchange stuffs work. PS: I'll also like u to recomend me an Step-By-Step guide on implementing Exchange 2k3, since what I've done I've done it "on the fly", u know, test and fail, so I dont have any guarantees of it to work.

Hi guys. I need a software which allows me to Route or redirect some ports for an IP surveillance Camera. I know I could do that by simply using a hardware firewall which has the option of Ports redirecting, but mine is not working right now, so I need to know if there's any program that allows me to do that. Just for the record, I'm working on a NAT with 2 NIC (the first one for the Internet public address, and the other for my LAN address). PS.: I'm Usign Winxp SP2. Ok, i know this isn't an OS issue, but hey, I have this question....I've seen that there are many adapters for 3G internet technology, but only for laptops, so I need an adapter for a desktop PC. I haven't seen any. The reason why i need it for a PC is because there are no DSL nor dial-up lines where the PC is going to be, but a 3G connection. Hope u guys can help me to find a PCI adapter or something like that, thanks.

I have a RAID 10 array with 4 "36" GB HD....that's about 72 GB of available space, but I need more space. How can I add, let's say, another 36 GB HD without having to break the current array, it is, without having to lose the information. Thanx.

I've seen that page from BP before, and it looks so easy to do, but the thing is that we're hosted with them, but with Sleekhost....so, when I tried to update my MX records using the procedure that they give on the page, I found this: "NO HOSTING ACCOUNTS You have not purchased any web hosting accounts yet. Click here to purchase." So, as I have nothing, I cant modify anything, that's the problem as far as now. I'll try sending them a mail to ask the procedure in this case, because I really dont think it has to do with sleekhost.

Ok, let me get this straight...i have this server runing W2k server, then I'm adquiring a new server which will run W2k3..., the question is, what do i need exactly to migrate the AD of the W2k server to the new one?....it will be very helpful an step by step guide to do so, if possible...thanx a lot guys.

Check out if any of your drives are having troubles, such as reading troubles with cd-rom units or HDD. Maybe it's tryin' to read those units but it hangs because it has some kind of problem. Try unpluggin' all IDE devices but your primary HDD.

Hi Guys, this is the scenario: 4 workstations running Win98 SE, and another workstation acting as a file "server" running Win2k Professional. When I go to "Network Places" in any of the Win98 workstations, there are no visible PC's, and if I double click "Entire Network" it gives the error "could not access network...bla,bla". But that's not all. When I go to "Network Places" in the WIn2k WS, I can see all of the workstations including itself (it is named "apps")and I can access all of the PC's without any problem. Other issue is: in the "Run" dialog box I type "\\apps" (without the quotes), inmediately says that cannot find the network address (or resource, dont remember very well), and the same happens if I type its IP address. But I type the name (or IP address) of the others workstations (those running Win98), it access them just well. And finally it gets a little weirder, each one of the Win98 Workstations have a mapped network drive, which is reconnected every time you login; that network drive is located in "Apps" and it connects very fine, so I dont understand why I cant access "Apps" from either Run or Netowrk Places. Hope I gave information enough, I need a hand here guys, thax in advanced. PS: Today they've (customers) called me and said that these problems seem to happen only when the Win2k Pc is turned on :x . guess it may help.

Ok, thnx for your advices; this is the veredict: A DAMN VIRUS!. The Win2k machine got infected with 2 different virus, the W32.Spybot.Worm and Trojan.Adclicker. Actually the first one was the one that caused the disaster. Note, I had to set the "Computer Browser" service to start manually, I dunno why but this service seemed to cause all the Win98 machines not to show under Network Places, then I had to make some changes to registry to share again the IPC$ resource. A good read to this Issue is located http://www.experts-exchange.com/Networking/Q_21010475.html To Re-share the IPC$ resource you have to open Regedit and go to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\lanmanserver\parameters In the left Panel change the values of the AutoShareServer and AutoShareWks to "1". If They're not listed, create'em as DWORD Values. See you next time and thx again.
