I recently brought up a Windows 2000 Print Server in a Corporate environment and spooled 410 printers spooled onto it.
Working in Windows XP:
When accessing the print shares via the "Run" command-line (or any other method for that matter):
Start -> Run-> \\<servername> -> Printers and Faxes
The printer share window that pops up refreshes itself much too fast (6 second interval)! When the window refreshes, it takes you to the top of the like list.
It's almost impossible to look for a printer that's in the middle of the 400+ printer that's spooled onto the server for the window will refresh and take you to the top of the list. In this case, i would have to Terminal Serve into the print server to administrate.
I have successfully recreated this problem on several workstations I brought up running Windows XP in case the problem was local to my box. In each build, i would get the same irritating behavior.
Any ideas on how to correct this?
