I'd have to agree with the above.

It is probably the shadowing texture that has dropped the FPS rate. I would stay with the drivers you have right now, as they are the standard and are probably the most supported by the newest (or NEWER) games/applications for that matter. P.S. I know the site is a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig help, it seems dead. I feel like a Trek captain that has stumbled upon an abandoned ship only to see a few survivors

Go High Definition, doesn't matter size or price, just go HDTV, period. It'll be standard in like 10 years.

1. My cousin tells me that something screwed up on Windows 98 and he decided to reinstall, so he formats the drive, reinstalls DOS and Windows 3.11, oops, he can't access his cd-rom anymore. So I go through his disks, trying to see if he has a boot floppy or something like it. (After spending 2 hours reading the Windows Readme files, haha). Eventually, I couldn't figure it out, so I took the cd out of the drive and left it. I came back 15 minutes later, and put what looked to be the correct disk, I switch to the E: drive, only to see (CDR150 - Drive not responding) or whatever it says. I think "damn, can't be right". I spend another 2 hours trying to figure it out, until I realized "crap, I took the CD out, that was the right floppy disk all along, 2 hours ago I had it". I was so happy anyways to figure it out, haha 2. Had this old Commodore PCIII-20 or something like that. It was giving me trouble, so I thought "why not format the drive and start over" I did this and then went to my floppies for the DOS 5.0 disks, only to realize I had wiped them out days ago 3. Recently, I hooked up my internet to a new NIC and when I went to hook up my cousin's to it, it kept saying "Work Offline or Connect", I kept saying Work Offline. It took me close to 12 tries before I realized that I was doing that. Dumb, believe me.

lol. Right click on speaker icon in system tray (assuming you have it there, otherwise go through control panel) and then go to Adjust Audio Properities. Once there, under the Volume tab, in Speaker settings, choose Advanced and make sure you have Quadraphonic Speakers selected.

Quote: Hello, I was curious -- is Windows XP Service Pack 1 Beta available for download anywhere? If so, where? Thanks for your help --Poxnor Rule of thumb: Never download a beta (bugs) that is required to fix bugs (bugs)

Quote: Some people, like myself do use no-cd cracks to save always having to put a cd in and out, in and out.(also saves the cd from gett'n beat up) I find it rather immature to "assumne" he hs an illegal copy, it is likely, but not always the case. www.gamecopyworld.com Is that against the rules here? I don't remember or care. But he is right, I know (including myself) people that have legit copies and still use the no cd. I hate having to have the CD in there all the time just to play a game that is already copied to the bloody drive

Quote: Just installed this and getting some lag in games now like GTA3. Anyone else installed this? I had the problem too, except that it was Diablo 2 that kept crashing before getting to the battle.net login screen. I just used the uninstalling that came with it, but eventually, just formatted cuz I felt like it Now GTA3 does take a lot of system to use however, so that could be your problem.

This game has never given me a problem in XP, after switching compatibility to Windows 98/Windows Me
-
use Pc-Cillin 2002. It gives me no problems, it loads fast and does what it is suppose to do. None of this flashy stuff like McAfee has and it isn't as expensive.

When I am playing Diablo 2, randomly, it crashes with the error of: UNHANDLED_EXCEPTION: Access Violation(c000005) The things I've tried to correct it are: 1. Everything on Blizzard's tech support, which is: Uninstall Diablo 2, and remove all of it's registry entries and directories. Run scandisk(full) and defrag, then reinstall. I've tried turning off AGP Texturing and Direct3D Acceleration, as well as disable my sound card. None of these as worked. This is under XP, running an Nvidia GeForce 2 MX, AMD Chipset mobo. I have latest Nvidia drivers, as well as latest AGP Miniport and IDE Bus Mastering drivers. Good god, there has to be a way to fix this. I've also formatted and reinstalled, so it isn't any of that. Please help if you can.

LOL Nice, not being able to use cut and paste I'll give it a try

yeah, I know. It always does this (yes, it still does do it once in a while) 16:19:28.885 ***** UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: ACCESS_VIOLATION (c0000005) 16:19:28.885 Fault address: 7379C1C6 02:000001C6 C:\WINDOWS\System32\DDRAW.dll I have tried the official Nvidia drivers from their site, as well as the two previously released Nvidia drivers from their site, nothing of them work.

Was ok, but nothing that even matches Diablo 2. A quick fix was all it was to me, it was too easy and in my opinion was a simplified version of an RPG for people who have been previously scared off.

"SPOILER" in the topic would have been ok, we're sorry
-
it was ok, but certainly wasn't worth going to the threatre for. Clones have been done over way too much, in such shows as Metropolis and Multiplicity. As well as the one with Arnold where his finds out his family has been cloned. It's the same ol', same ol', and believe me "funky" graphics do not make a movie. The storyline was ok, it was better than that god awful Episode I, but not by much. Let's hope he gets it straight with Episode 3. Because as far as i'm concerned, 4 to 6 are the only good ones out there.

omfg, I really didn't need your help then Figured out under Compatibility, just have it say "run in 640 x 480" and then when I open it, it changes the resolution of the desktop before running the proggy.
-
actually, I have pinpointed it down to resolutions. When I have my desktop at 800 x 600, it works fine, but when I change it to my usual 1280 x 1024, that's when it starts crashing. I've tried the drivers that come with XP, as well as 28.32, 23.11, and the 29.?? (don't remember the last 2 numbers) and none of them fix it. Is there a way to get around THIS sort of problem?
