Thanks for the fix Philip, I could partially see the forums, but they were all mangled under Maxthon (uses the IE core)....
-
Thanks again Philip, it's working fine for me after my login of course

I have not played Warcraft 2 on Battle.net, however I still occasionaly play D2 My main MMO now is Lineage 2....
-
So I wonder of the the anti-spyware apps have taken notice of this one yet ?!?
-
@fpin, if that's indeed correct, then that manufacturer has really shot itself in the foot with making so damn proprietary I guess I will not be looking into anything from them any time soon...
-
@Viny, the convert app is a one-way street, it allows you to convert from FAT16/32 into NTFS but not back again However, I do beleive that Partition Magic supports this function. You will have to find a copy as Symantec purchased the company that published this and their other drive cloning products and incorporated the features into Norton products.

I like that idea too, I currently work for a POS(Point of Sales) company and support both XP Pro workstations along with a Linux based distro server. It would help me out too for tips and tricks that I need to get for either OS
-
You should also d/l the latest network/full install of DirectX 9.0c so that you can reinstall this as well Have you updated your motherboard chipset inf drivers as well ?!?
-
Get another XP license, home or pro for that machine and boot the install media and delete/reformat the drive. Don't mess about with trying to save data because it sounds like the file system is corrupt beyond repair at this point.

Yes, in that most likely the stock Windows drivers do not properly support your sound card, either onboard or third party. If you can determine if you are using the onboard sound, which most likely you are, then open the case up and look for a make/model of the motherboard. This will help to find which drivers you need for your machine. Also, you can tell if you are using the onboard soundcard if you look to where you connect your speakers and mic to, if it's on the back I/O panel where the keyboar/mouse etc are then you are using the onboard sound. If you are connecting to a back panel expansion bracket then you are most likely using a third party PCI sound card. Either way knowing what the make/model of the motherboard is and the sound card if it's a third party model, will help out a lot

Please provide some more information: Need to know what your motherboard make/model happens to be as most likely you are using the onboard AC97 codec. You should look around first for the motherboard device drivers installation CD. Just insert this disc and you should be able to locate the sound card drivers and install those drivers and reboot the machine. However, if you have a third party sound card, then just note what the make/model of that happens to be and then you again should look around first for a device drivers installation CD and install those drivers. Let us know what you find out too

Yeah I was going to recommend voodoofiles as well
-
I can only suggest calling BFG Tech and ask them about this very thing, give them the make/model of the motherboard as well and see if they have tested the combo out yet... You could also try out their tech support email address, if they have one of course
-
Well, if the pics are correct for this model card then no it's not SLI capable, there is not SLI bridge connector on the top of this card near the fron expansion bracket like there should be. However, BFG's website does say this model is SLI capable so I really don't know how unless some of the motherboards come with the SLI bridge on the motherboard instead of the graphics cards

I do believe you can d/l the network install version of WMP 10 to you local HD and install it there. It's possible the WMP 10 setup app is not detecting your system configuration properly. You must have Windows XP to install version 10 of course, which I'm assuming you have since you mentioned having to uninstall it once already
-
Sure, I'm assuming you are using the onboard sound from the motherboard. Can you tell us what the make/model of that motherboard is please ?!?
-
I know you just say 500 watt Power Supply, but can you give us the specs of that too, the make and model please
-
Interesting, thanks for this tidbit of info, however, I wonder what would happen if you send them bogus information for the trial software or do they require a CC up front ?!? I currently subscribe to Comcast and they have the On Demand service which is quite nice along with their DVR box I must say Who needs anything other then this or the equivilent Tivo service from a Satellite service...
-
Just remember that you get what you pay for, it's possible that something else will work just fine and perhaps the separate devices maybe the answer too
-
I take it you have tried installing the sound drivers that came with this new motherboard ?!? They will be located on a CD full of device drivers for that motherboard. The only other way to help you further is to ask what this new motherboard make/model is, thanks
-
Hey I remember them Felix, when I used to work for an ISP we had a bunch of the remote/lom power strips connected to remote sites so that we could remotely power cycle any modem racks giving us issues. They worked just great, so I too will recommend them if their KVM boxes work any where near as good as the power strips.

I just looked at the Creative Audio Converter app that came with my X-Fi card, you can resample .WAV and .MP3 files down to mono and 32bit sampling Now of course I have not checked out the Audigy 1 or 2 apps but I would imagine it has some of the same feature set too... Back on topic, glad to read that you got things resolved too
-
I've never used CDex so I can't help you there, sorry However I have used the Creative Labs WAV tools app that comes with my Audigy and X-Fi cards, it works great and I do beleive it has an option to convert the stereo WAV into a mono type as well Also I do beleiver Goldwave will also allow you to do this, both the ripping and the WAV conversion as well.

Nope, these model 6xx CPU's are only for socket T/775 motherboards Now if Intel did release a socket 478 version, then that's news to me.... As for those motherboards, I personally would shy away from ECS, they are the parent to other brands like PC Chips/Matsonic/Amptron and the like. This is just me and I'm sure others have had no issues with them, but pricing should't be the one and only factor as you need some quality parts to make a nice stable system/machine The AS Rock is the Asus generic branded board, I've heard both pro's and con's but I've never used one so I can't really say one way or another. Now another brand that I've used over the years with great success is Aopen so you maybe be able to find a decent board from them as well...
