Well nForce is a brand-name for a chipset used on a AMD motherboard. This is for nVidia based chipset motherboards. Asus just happens to use a few different flavors/versions of the nForce chipset on their motherboards, check this page out for more info. Scroll down to the Socket 754, Socket 939, Socket 940 and Socket 462(A) for more info. I do highly recommend Asus motherboards and IMO I would recommend Aopen next followed closely by Abit. As for Intel vs. AMD, that's very subjective. It really depends on what you're going to use the machine for

(UN)Fortunately I'm a master of going off on multiple tangents Getting back to an almost on-topic to this thread, does anybody here remember El-Fish ?!? It truly was a real aquarium simulator

Hmm, ds3circuit, did you have one too many Labatt Blues or did you accidently hit submit twice

No problems should arise, however you should check out each component for compaitibility with .NET first. This would be making sure there are drivers for hardware devices such as the sound, graphics and any other peripherals you may wish to use with the OS, wether for testing or general use that is to say BTW - the line between what you could call a server vs. a desktop has been so blurred that this really isn't an issue unless you need to do specific tasks such as lots of transactions per second such as a web/db server.

And considering my last CD burning software was "Adaptec Create CD 4" I'd assume somethings need to be updated. Thanx again Just a thought since you mentioned Easy CD Creator. Did you uninstall/remove this before using Nero ?!? I've never been able to get these apps to place nice with each other and you had to choose one and only one could be installed at the same time

JPEG vulnerability in IE/MsApps not enough? Bitmap parse in FireFox/Mozilla now

I'd rather see a pure machine coded browser to take advantage of things like Hyper-Threading and SMP oh and of course unchecked buffers in everything from the the CSS to the BMP views hehehehehehe -

I've come to the conclusion that you will never really have a %100 secure OS, not even if you never-ever connect to the net what so ever. Why is this ?!? Because the pretty much all OS's have gotten rather complex, with lots of features to make a users life easier and/or more fun. Due to this complexity I feel that there will always be somebody out there that is going to look for exploits and vulnerabilities. I bet if somebody dug into the old Amiga DOS v1.xx~v3.9 you could also find some issues like this. But what's the point in that there is a very finite amount of users that still have working, let alone use their Amiga's Why not target an OS with the greatest amount of users so that when some new exploit is found that it can affect the greatest possible number of users ?!? -
The only drive/drives that may require some fudging are the floppy and sometimes the CD-RW/DVD-Reader due to the Dell case design. They don't always come with a standard faceplate or none at all as the front of the case cover does this function The drive/drives themselves will still function, just may not look as good without the proper face plate is all.

I figured some company would do this, I'm really glad to see it's from Asus, my preference for motherboards I do have to mention one caveat however, this has to do with Intel as they will stop producing *all* there Socket 478 CPU's shortly to force everyone into purchasing there Socket-T CPU's instead

There are plenty of forums out there that cater to abuse, arguments and flaming However I do believe that this forum doesn't allow such behavior, for the most part. This is because of the users I would imagine and of course Philip wouldn't allow or tolerate such behavior, let alone the users themselves

It maybe a codec I need, generally these are required for playback, however like plug-in's for WinAmp, they can do all kinds of things, so hopefully I can find something. I've asked some questions in a forum I run to see what the native language is for that site, there's a lot of funny clips there, just clicking on different links takes you to some unknown clip until it starts playing -

Hmm, well I hadn't noticed anything being installed via ActiveX but I bet it does I'll have to look for a streaming capture plug-in then, can you recommend one for WMV files ?!? -

You shouldn't have to click on anything, this is the direct link to the film in WMV or AVI format. I don't use Opera so can you try using IE for just this link and see what happens ?!? I personally use an IE clone called Maxthon, formally called MyIE2. It has the tabbed viewing I like and lots of extras too
