Im currently running a dual boot system from this rig:-
Epox 8KTA3+pro mobo
256Mb Crucial PC133 ram
MSI GF3 Ti200
Herc. GTXP soundcard
Maxtor d740x 20 Gb HDD (partitioned into 2, one for Win98 other Win2kpro)
Alcatel Speedtouch USB ADSL modem
My alcatel frog works fine under win98 but powers down and hangs under Win2kpro (after attempting to connect to the net)
I have the latest Via 4 in 1's on both setups
Latest BIOS for board
Latest Alcatel drivers
USB filter driver 1.10 on both
I did manage to get the thing working after a clean install of Win2kpro etc but when I downloaded the SP2 update and rebooted it cut out again.
I noticed that under Win2kpro the VIA USB bus shares itas IRQ with 5 other items including the GFX card and Sound card, could this be the cause??
I dont think it can be a hardware issue seeing as it works fine on Win98 on the same system!!
Any ideas??
