i don´t want to change my computer peripheras just to play an old game. there seems to be no support for wo2097 - no patches, nothing

i´ve tried many of these slowdown programs such as moslo, slowdown, cpu killer and so on, but they don´t work properly. i´ve got a amd duron 800, 640 megs of ram and a geforce 4 mx. how can i slow down games like wipeout 2097/XL under win xp?
