no its cos people like you will happily buy it..ive never had a psu over 300watt and i dont think i will in the near future.]] as a owner of a shop i see alot of psu probs ..as long as its a good make your laffing.

if its 300watt leave it..all this crap about bad psu and board support is pants,,if it is 250watt then thats a worry but 300watt can handle the most demanding setups.

ive got the full game and its so ****ing cool...so dont listen to the people who havent played it yet they just want more than is possible on todays computers ..probebly spotty geeks or somthin. play it buy it..or copy your mates..it copys strait from the cd..no copy protection at all...do it.

rubbish ..i have a much more powerfull system than yours and it runs fine on a standerd 300watt supply. just make sure your power is p4 amd approved..as the owner of my own computer shop im constantly being asked is my supply up to the job..and i always say if its 300watt its fine..and ive never lost a supply yet. my system specs are as follows. AMB XP 1700 512 RAM JETWAY V266B MBOARD ATI RADEON 64MEG CREATIVE 5.1 SOUND 16x DVD ROM CD-RW 8x 2x 20GIG HDs 56K V/92 MODEM FEW CASE FANS VOLCANO 7 PSU COOLER AND ALL THE NORMAL STUFF. and i have a standerd amd approved case and cpu. so no you dont need a upgrade and dont let anyone tell you different.

ok ive got this problem with my system . AMD XP 1700 JETWAY V266B MOTHERBOARD (LATEST BIOS) 512 SDRAM (SINGLE STICK) RADEON 7200 64MEG DDR (LATEST DRIVERS) SOUNDBLASTER LIVE 5.1 (LATEST DRIVERS) 56K MODEM (LATEST DRIVERS) SAMSUNG CDRW 16x DVD DRIVE 2x 20GIG HARDRIVES (NOT RAID) AND I HAVE AMPLE COOLING FOR MY CPU.VOLCANO 7. PLUS A KOB 85 CASE AMD / P4 APPROVED. WIN XP PRO (ALL THE LATEST UPDATES) now i no this system could get a score on 3d mark 2001 of 3789 and thats ok cos my graphics card aint the latest and best. but now im only getting a score of 3466 if im lucky..and this is after a fresh install with the latest 4-in-1s from via. i own my own shop and have fixed every problem im faced with..but a problem like this is not easy to solve.i was wondering if anyone else has this problem on a simaler setup.and no it does not overheat and its not overclocked ..nor has it ever been overclocked. ive shut down all the things that i can that might affect performance but with no change. its not any of my componants because its tha same setup i had when it was scoring 3789. its not a major problem but i no about computers and have tryed everything. any ideas.

soundblaster drivers are pants... try uninstalling your chipset drivers..i had to do it with a mates board with an intel chipset and a soundblaster live value. not the same card i no but try it. try an older driver for your sound ..it might be a problem with that board..computers are alive im sure..they mess with you. also try a bios update..if no joy then i cant help.

i had the same problem with an older motherboard..it got so far then crashed in the same way..if the new bios dident fix it..try putting your hardrive in a mates computer..install it on his then see if windows will work..if it reconizes all your stuuf your away.

ive just put a 1700xp in my system and had the same problem.soon as i put office 2k on it was ok..but if you wanna stick with office xp try up[censored] it.i did and it solved it. plus make sure your psu is amd approved.and buy a fan that is over rated for your chip.
