only from personal experience i have a dual xeon with and old geforce 4200 and i have no probs setting wolf to 120 fps and having it stay (1024x768) and the cool thing about a dually is that if it starts a virus scan or i forget to shut off the video encoder while im playing i dont even notice. -
alec u forgot the single biggest advantage of a scsi drive. bi-directional read write reading and writing on the same clock cycle. btw the new seagate 15k drives are super quiet
-
at times the forums can be quiet. most here i believe are professionals hard at work, but today i think everyone might have serious burnout.

one of our engineers just got a dual xeon with one of these drives. it kicks butt

Migrating from Novel 3.1.2 to Windows SBS 2003 - Need Your Knowledge
Jerry Atrik replied to frankiep's topic in Hardware
it's not terribly difficult. the hardware should be fine. for the most basic setup just follow the prompts when installing the sbs and reconfigure the clients. should work almost automatically -
remote desktop should work thru vpn just make sure the client firewalls (xp) are turned off or the remote desktop service added... i tried lmhosts but i just didnt have any luck myself. maybe im just doing it wrong

when im connected vpn to work all my pings go thru the vpn. if u can ping the internal nat address then u know u are in. while connected to vpn it's best to have your nat addy's (if u have any) different than your vpn. i.e. domain addresses are 192.168.xxx then change yours to 207.67.xxx u can map a network drive directly if u know the share name (which is how i do it from home)
-
i would also like to know if someone can answer this. to my knowledge that is one of the drawbacks of microsoft vpn. u can address other computers directly by ip but not by name. u cant' join a domain that i'm aware and cant see them in explorer.

u said a "matched" pair does that mean a primary and a stepping processor. the dually requirements for the p4 xeon is opposite than the p2 and p3. -

-
unplug the pc and turn the modem off plug lappy in and turn the modem back on. cox establishes a trust when the modem is turned on so it must be rebooted to create a trust account with a new computer.
