Hey everyone, I am looking at building a new "rig" i am from Australia so parts arnt as cheap here. I want to spend under $1180 US. My questions may get out of hand but i am new to overclocking and what i need for the job. And im not sure what settings to use in BIOS and all the Voltage stuff. So far after reading many posts on this cool forum, it seems the best cpu is the AMD XP 2100 AUIHB core, week0250 please corect me if im wong on anything i say. I understand the best board for overclocking with this chip is Epox 8rda+. I would like to get the cpu up to 2.225Ghz or so and still be stable for everyday use. i dont want it for benchmarking, just a fast cpu which can be overclocked to somthing like the amdxp 2800 speed with out actually buying a $900AUD XP2800 cpu. I have read that a SLK-800 is best to use with a YS-Tech Silent Fan (what model is the silent one?). I have also read reviews saying the clips on the SLK may not be strong enough, so i have seen a SLK-900 which hold 92mm fans. just wondering can the SLK - 900 can hold 120mm fans. I think the 120mm Vantec Stelth is quite good, 53CFM/28dBA. I would also like to buy a Xaser III 2000a, antec True blue 480wat or thermal take slient 420wat, Pioneer a05, wd 120gig 7200 and corsair xms 512mb 3200. I will also be using my existing SB Live de 5.1, AOC 19" Flat, Leadtek 128 GF4 Ti 4200 vivo & winxp pro. So my questions are: What heat sink to use, and what fan. I dont want it to be any louder than the case fans in the Xaser III case or the PSU. and also am i right about choosing the m/b and cpu? Will i be over to over clock and still have is VERY stable, i will be using it for video editing aswell so it will be on 4 long periods of time. Thanks for your time and knowledge

New MotherBoard Help I am building a computer for my dad and i'd like your opion on which motherboard i should use. keep in mind that it needs to be stable, will be using DDR266(pc2100)Ram and i only want to spend AUS$200 max on the motherboard but will spend $240 if you really think that the $240 motherboard is much more stable and better. *I also allready have the network card, sb vibra sound card and an external modem all i need is motherboard, cpu and ram. *also will any of these motherboards fit a celeron? im asking because i was thinking if i get a really good motherboard and a cheap cpu($100) i can then buy a really good cpu later on (in 5 months or somthing) when the prices go down. can i do this or should i just buy a pentium 1800a for $313? thanks for you help. At"JBoDEAN" why the ASUS P4S333-C?? also is it worth paying the extra to get the P4S333: 533Mhz FSB,3x DDR333,6PCI,6-channel audio $240 its got 533Mhz FSB is this worth paying for?

Problem 1. My brother has a voodoo 2 pci video card, and he has just installed windows xp home and the cd that came with the video card does not support windows xp. i have gone to voodoofiles.com but they only have win xp voodoo 2 drivers for glide and open gl. i need the 3dfx driver, otherwise his computer does not reconise that the card is a 3D accelerator. for example when i try and run jedi knight 2 it says "there is no 3d hardware support" or something like that. can some plz help me find a 3dfx driver for voodoo 2 for xp. i did find a 3dfx driver for xp but it only supported voodoo 3,4 & 5 not voodoo 2! email me at calis_711@hotmail.com if you find a link Problem 2. I have a Leadtek 64mb GF4 MX440 DDR TV OUT video card and a Gigabyte GA7VTXE+ MB for AMD. I need a "Graphics Accelerators BIOS" for it so it will work in my motherboard(i hope it will sovle the problem). At the moment when i plug it into my AGP slot it shows nothing up on screen. i have to use an old 2mb video card for the moment the web site containg the Graphics Accelerators BIOS is www.gigabyte.com.tw/support/support.htm you click on the "Graphics Accelerators BIOS" link on the left and then it shows a screen with many drivers... which one am i suppost to use????? How exactly is artic silver used? do you just put some on the bace of the fan and attach it strait away to the cpu???

i have just tried to back up spiderman with my liteon 4012s (40x12x48x)burner and my dvd rom (pioneer 16x slot). i tried using Clonly XXl and it detected no proction or read errors. i also tried other protection detectors and they all detected "uknown protection" i am using clone cd 4.0.1.6 and i first tried making an image and then copying it. i also tried doing a normal cd copy but they both came up with errors when i tried to run them. when i insert the cd into either rom drive it comes up with "demo32.exe-Application Error" The application failed to initalize properly (0xc0000006). Click ok to terminate the application. and when i explore the cd and run setup.exe it comes up with "Error" Could not load the DLL library D:\Setup\rsrc\Getinfo.dll Error performing inpage operation how am i suppost to copy it? and i cant just use a no-cd crack because i need to install the game before i can use the crak and i can run the setup to install the game HELP

how do you make an iso?? i have nero and clone cd, so can i make an iso with either program?

I need a back up cd crack for these two games. I dont need the no-cd crack i need the back up crack which is the main setup.exe file not game.exe file. know what i mean. basicallly when i insert the backed up cd's (i copyed the real cd to hard drive then made a data copy) and i click install, it says "insert cd" does anybosy know how to help me? i have tried megagames, game fix and gamecopyworld but no luck

There is somthing wrong with the links but i recomend the Logitech Cordless Freedom Optical. Both mouse and keyboard are cordless and mouse has a scroll, is optical and has a thumb button which is great for crouching in FPS

I have allready tried the bios flash ver 4. i didnt work so i emailed the company(gigabyte) they sent me f5! and it still didnt work. i have downloaded the VIA 4in1 drivers, no luck either my only hope is the Graphics Accelerators Bios. The primary agp was set and still nothing. any other agp video card works in my computer and my video card works in my dad pc! so there is somthing wrong with my GA7VTXE+ motherboard and my GF4 64mb MX440 video card. I have three options: 1. to find the right Graphics Accelerators Bios (i need help to find it on the gigabyte support page) and hope that it will fix my problem. 2. to take my motherboard back(its only a 2 months old) and pay extra for a Asus A7V266-E (no onboard sound,video or RAID) which is about $70Aus more. 3. Swap my GF$ video card(1 month old) and pay extra for a 128mb GF3 Ti 200 Question: do you know what Graphics Accelerators Bios i need or what option would you choose? or do you have another suggestion?
