I had the same problem with a IBM notebook (P300/256MB) After initiating Windows XP it hangs at 39 min left. Solution? I placed a xtra fan next to the notebook and restarted the installation; then all worked fine. I know its not a hightech solution but it worked for me. Worth a try though!!
