Dray Tek Vigor 2500 & Linksys WRT54G NAT settings for broadcasting ???
adamvjackson replied to Samer's topic in Networking
Is it possible with that modem (DSL modem?) to disable NAT, since you have the Linksys router NAT'ting? Otherwise just standard port forwarding in the router config would apply. -
The system has recovered from a serious system :(

Did this just start recently? There was an update to address this problem in Windows XP that was released about 2 years+ ago, have you installed all available updates from Windows Update? -
There aren't any standard PCI/AGP slots like what you may see in a desktop PC, but most everything is intergrated into the motherboard.

how to get application compatibilty modes on w2k sp4 (integrated)?

No problem, glad you got the problem solved -
As far as I can tell, this is by-design. Only the pre-created sims have the face icons, custom sims do not.

Not sure where you were trying to download from, but if you're looking for a driver for an HP OfficeJet Printer/Fax/Scanner, best bet is always the manufacturer first. Here, just find your model in this list: http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Lookup?h_...&submit.y=0

If you really enjoy readme's, be sure to check out the RFC Database when you have a few spare months with nothing to do...

How large is your swap file?

Maybe it doesn't support long file names? Not sure...

Too bad the demo was only single-player. I was a HUGE fan of Doom 1 and Doom 2, but I don't think Doom 3 is really "worthy" of the franchise; unfortunately.

Well, I used to host a two node BBS on 28.8, now have a guess at my age Remember BBS doors and Legend of the Red Dragon? Oh, those were the days I've thought from time to time about setting up a telnet BBS

Last time I looked (it's been a while) it was about 1.5GB from a fresh install.

If you call/write/email the manufacturer they will usually provide a replacement CD (assuming you can verify your purchase) for a nominal charge. While I'm sure google could help you find a no-cd patch, it could be considered a violation of your EULA/software piracy, just so that you are advised.

That regkey is probably created the first time the default text is modified.

Easy win2k install on 20 computers (with same configuration)

The advantage of using Ghost (or whatever) is that each machine on the network looks and works identically (in theory). If you keep a copy of the Ghost image, it's also useful when a machine starts misbehaving - just reimage the machine and hey presto! It works again - most of the time! Don't forget new machine SIDs, too. -

Symantec Ghost and SysPrep. Possibly Remote Installation Services (RIS) too. [edit] hehe, I see DS3 has beat me to it [/edit] -
LOL! The first thing I thought of when I saw that was someone saying, "My RAM lights stopped blinking!" Ok, ok... Almost time to go home

No problem, I know how muddy Microsoft makes the licensing waters... Thankfully you don't have to worry about software assurance, volume license agreements, etc. ;-)

Win2k Pro hangs at start-up screen

Remove the HDD and install it in another workstation to copy your work off, and then re-image the drive. It very likely could be a hardware problem though; a fresh image should help to determine that. -

Screensavers are per-user settings. If the currently logged-on user does not have sufficient permissions, you can either temporarily elevate the user's privliges, change the users's/OU's screensaver settings, or log in as an administrator and change the screensaver settings as per-machine in regedit.

If it is explorer that has some (possible) corruption, it may be resolved with by going to "Start" -> "Run" -> SFC /SCANNOW
