Windows XP SERVICE PACK 2 LEAKED!!
adamvjackson replied to NTGAMEMAN's topic in Everything New Technology
Quote: why are you being such a fag, the guy just wanted people to know about a story in which an early build of XP SP2 was leaked to the web. Then you just jump right down his throat preaching your anti-w.arez crap. This is a discussion forum, so discuss it. Dont cry about pirated software when hes not even trying to get support for it. I respect your opinion, but I do not respect personal attacks. Quote: Actually if you looked around you would see that a build of SP2 has been leaked. I've seen the news, and I am still not convinced that it is a legitmate release, therefore, until it is acknowledged by Microsoft, it is a leak/ware.z release. I'm sure ware.z discussions are prohibited by the forum rules and moderators. Quote: So quit your whining and either let the thread die or dont post in it. You're opinion has been noted. -
Diskeeper 7.x slows down windows explorer refresh

I suspect that it could be due to the indexing service, as the index may be pointing to the incorrect locations of files and folders. Anyone else have any thoughts? -
Also, EAC should have vorbis support.

Is the plug and play option in your BIOS set to have the BIOS or the OS control PNP?

The Dewey Decimal System, too.

Windows XP SERVICE PACK 2 LEAKED!!

I just noticed something in that screenshot: Cleartype is turned on, and all text is antialiased, except the title of 'Welcome to the Windows XP Service Pack 2 Setup Wizard'. That ensures that the image was photoshopped. -
Windows XP SERVICE PACK 2 LEAKED!!

I think beta service pack discussion is best left to the microsoft newsgroups. Server name and login information is at betaplace. -
Do NOT click on that link, you'd only be promoting this sham of a pyramid scheme. Also, rather a shame that his/her first post was that garbage.

First, it's a fake. Second, these leaks and ware.z releases are best not posted here. Now, if this was on http://www.betaplace.com, and authorized users could download it, that would be a different story. -

How about VirtualDub? -
I've seen driver.cab crash a Windows XP Professional install many times, due to bad RAM. I suppose this is due to the filesize.
-
Yeah, I've heard of that. To verify it, you can leave the suspect memory in, and run this utility. Glad to hear you found the problem, and thanks for the followup.
-
Ok, I just wanted to ensure that I understood you properly. BTW, those instructions were for Windows 2000. Let me/us know if they do not work for you.

Have you recently installed any drivers, perhaps a video driver?

Win 95 / IE 5.5 / Registry hack / SQL blues...
adamvjackson replied to Catdog02's topic in Legacy OS
I understand and respect your circumstances, please don't take my suggestions wrong, I was/am only trying to help! That being said, are there any MSFT or 3rd party utilities that you could use to monitor the connection to the DC? -

Oh, now that's more understandable. So the IT/IS department doesn't have a test machine that you could use? -
So you do want it to auto login? If so: Control Panel -> Users and Passwords -> Uncheck 'Users must enter a username and password to use this computer' If not, check that box.

Quote: With so many different variables involved, is there anyway to try a different browser to see if IE can be isolated as the problem or if its the OS? Quote: I'm reluctant to try to be honest, if it isn't IE, we can't support it. I agree with DS3Circuit, trying another browser, such as Phoenix, Mozilla, Netscape, Opera, etc. would be a necessary step in troubleshooting the problem. That would help determine if it is a browser problem, a Windows problem, etc. -
Similar to the NTSWITCH, I'm sure... At any rate, if you need the Pro features, you need a pro license.

Quote: AFAIK, there is no way to log on to a domain from Home Edition, there may be a hack out there somewhere to do it though. Indeed, that was one of the major limitations of the home edition.

As a follow-up, I personally have been known to distribuite MSFT files, such as ACT 1.5... However, there are two important factors here: 1. The file is not available from Microsoft, and 2. The file has a valid MSFT digital signature, verified by Verisign.

Static/Dynamic IPs? Have you tried up[censored] NIC drivers?
