APK, you're on top of things! Nice to have people like you around! Adam -
Phoenix is all I use, except if I need to sign in to windowsbeta.microsoft.com or windowsupdate.microsoft.com.... That's all I can think of.

Win2k 2000 Server; trouble with access by Terminal Client
adamvjackson replied to Preacher's topic in Networking
I would suggest VNC. There are some apps that cannot be run thru a TS client, VNC is the common workaround. Oh, and it's free, too. -
Most any broadband service provider is superior to dialup access. You can check out http://www.dslreports.com for feedback on ISPs in your area. Personally, I use Charter Communications for internet access, and my opinion is that they are slightly better than average.

I personally like ZNESwin.

Have you tried posting in microsoft.private.windows.netserver.general newsgroup? -
No problem! Not bad for a free trial version.

Terminal Service session won't Do Norton System Scan?
adamvjackson replied to screamware's topic in Software
Thanks for the link, checking that out now... Also heard that TightVNC is another good VNC port. -
Well, the Audigy has a digital out, I rather doubt that the Monster Sound does... Also, generally, Creative's cards have better i/o options.

Kung Pow, Enter the Fist, if I remember correctly... Never saw it, not my type of film.

Quote: yeah it might but in my eyes it is much better to have compatability and stability than it is to have nice features. I totally agree, and I usually use that statement when others decide to build an AMD/VIA-based server...

All I know that is blocked on charter's non-commercial accounts is 25, 80, 110. Are you sure you have configured your gateway/router correctly to forward the VNC port (~5000 series by default)?

How about using VNC when you need to initiate a manual scan? Here's a url, if you need more info, http://www.realvnc.com. -
Have you installed the latest video drivers and DirectX 9 as well?

For what it's worth, the demo runs fine under 2000; Have you patched the game to the latest version? Also, you may want to test your ram, I recommend MemTest86.

ePSXe works very well, but you will need to have the exact bios from your playstation. There are some cables available to backup the PSX bios to a file, you will need one of those. Also, you will need plugins for the display, sound, input devices and the CD drive. I personally suggest Pete's plugins, a simple google search will turn up the correct addresses.

Quote: As for Exchange 2003, I've ordered the beta and will be having a lot of playing around with it to see what's there, although I doubt they'd shell out for it unless there was a very compelling case for it. The new OWA is very nice! Can't wait to install Office 11 when the CD gets here! Hoping it will mirror the OWA interface.
