Good to know, thanks for the tip. It's always useful when someone not only posts a problem, but exactly what they did to resolve it.

Ahh! The link from hell! :x

It could be, I honestly haven't checked. You were correct about the 440BX running at 100MHz... Also one of my more favored Intel chipsets. I was not really a fan of the 81x line.

Have you upgraded to MSN Messenger 5.0 yet?

lol So maybe this is why I'm single?

Symantec was giving away the beta free back in August, but it wouldn't update the signatures, if I remember correctly.

Quote: Good grief Adam are you unemployed or do you just not work while you're at work? Well, I am usually quite busy at work, but I still try to take a few moments from time to time to stop in and see whats new...

Ah the new Maxtor D740X series has liquid bearings.. can't hear the drive over the cpu fan, anyway.
-
How come you didn't just use the uninstall feature (Add/Remove Programs...)?
-
The 8MB cache does help performance considerably, from what I've read. I however, am partital to Maxtors, currently.

Heh heh I guess it was the 2 months I was out of work... In case anyone was wondering, I haven't been around as much since I got a full time job now...

I should have added this to my last post, but the reason I usually have all of the listed 4 archiving utilities installed at once is so that I can open various installer-wrapped .exe's. I like knowing exactly what's in there, even more so if I'm unsure of the file origin.

So, noone wants to take a guess at what I can/should sell that system for?
-
Heh Heh good for a laugh... I remember seeing those a while back elsewhere, too.

Here's my order of preference for file level compression utilities: 1. WinRAR 2. PowerArchiver 3. WinACE 4. WinZip WinZip used to be top in it's field, but it's just been surpassed by some better utilites with more functionality. Anyway, it's my opinion, and you're free to agree or disagree accordingly.

Not sure really, I was kind of thinking about $350ish, but I'm open to suggestions... By no means is that price written in stone.

WHQL is a Windows Hardware Quality Lab certified driver. Have you installed the lastest drivers for the ATI card (intergrated video) and the MX440?

Windows 2000 installation and promise ata 100 problem

Random BSOD with IRQ_LESS_THAN yeah that error message... That seems to be the primary symptom, at least that's all that I've seen. Perhaps others have other symptoms. To be honest, I didn't leave it like that long enough to notice other 'symptoms'. If you need the SP2 version of scsiport.sys, send me an email and I'll be more than happy to send you the file. -
Have a look here. Anyone think the price is too high?

Is the XP serial key stored in the registry?
adamvjackson replied to Curley_Boy's topic in Customization & Tweaking
Possible, but unlikely. Do you remember exactly what Adaware found? -
Heh heh. Well, glad you got it resolved.
-
Actually, if anyone IS interested in purchasing it here, let me know... We could probably work something out with shipping.

You know, the cdrw drive is the oldest equipment in my pc, A Ricoh drive running at 12x... Guess it's time soon for an upgrade. This drive's been great though.
