Hello. I recently formatted my harddrive and reinstalled winxp. I had encrypted files on another drive, and now I can't access them. And no, I didn't make any backup or export of the encryption key - the key is now lost forever. Just didn't think about it. Although i'm pretty much sure all is lost I ask anyway as a last resort if anyone knows what I can do in this situation. Those are precious files for me (otherwise I wouldn't have encrypted them...) Please help!

I would be glad if anyone could tell me how to apply default security settings for a whole drive. I formatted drive C and re-installed winxp, but left the old permissions on drive D, which is causing me some problems now. Thanks!
