I tried loopback which works just fine, but I havent looked at the hosts file. I will try what you suggested. Im a bit puzzled by it, the Norton Auto-protect service is set to automatic and started, but norton shows it is disabled and I have to manually restart the service to enable auto-protect (I dont have the time, or ptients to manually restart the service everytime I switch on my machine, or if someone else does!), if I try within the NAV options I get a script error. I will post it here when Im home. Thanks
