You can do it from BIOS.. Restart your PC and look for a message saying "Press DEL to enter BIOS" or something like that (it should be DEL if you have Award BIOS, but can also be some other key, eg. F2 if you've got Phoenix). When you're inside look for a boot tab. PS: you can also make boot CD

And what is the name of your soundcard?? Did it ever work? Could you be more specific

or simply run 'regedit' and remove unwanted entries in here HKEY_.../Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run

Turning off startup programs in background...

Run 'regedit' HKEY_.../Software/Microsoft/Windows/CurrentVersion/Run and remove those entries you don't need... PS: make a backup, so you won't blame me if you'd screw up -
I'm afraid I cannot help you when it comes to VS.net, but there're other editors that you might find useful.. Take, for example, a look at Vim.

The only thing your friend has to add (to his "boot.ini", not to example) is C:\linux.bin="Linux". Oh.. and don't forget to copy "linux.bin" to C:\ . One other thing, instead of "lilo -s /tmp/linux.bin" you could also try "dd if=/dev/hda5 bs=512 count=1 of=/tmp/linux.bin" where "hda5" is a linux boot drive (check out line that says "boot" in "lilo.conf").

Best program for blocking ads and spam while browsing?
nebulus replied to pr-man's topic in Software
Mozilla is nice, but it's a browser , so it won't help you if you use.. hmm.. let's say IE. Well, NIS (Norton Internet Security) has a nice ad-blocking feature, but it's primary a firewall.. -
Antivirus software for Window NT 4.0
nebulus replied to Chief Bill's topic in Everything New Technology
I did actually mean KAV (Kaspersky Anti-Virus), also known as AVP (Anti-Virus Toolkit Pro), and not NAV (Norton/Symantec Antivirus) which is also one of the best. One more thing... I don't think Chief Bill looks like a corporate user... -
Quote: If I do not fix this without a complete format, I really hate Microsoft!! Well, just because IE doesn't work, doesn't necessary mean you have to perform a complete format.. You can always switch to an alternative browser, ie. Mozilla, Phoenix, Opera... Quote: I have tryied to (among other things) reinstall Internet Explorer but with no success.... Have you tried to reinstall with a newer build?

nebulus replied to dcxman's topic in Software
Hei! Maybe there is an easy way to reset the Content Advisory password I don't know about, but, anyway, there's a program that can do it for you (link is bellow). Never used myself.. didn't have to.. 'cause I use Mozilla. http://www.elcomsoft.com/aiepr.html
