I really wished that they would use the Broadcom 5702 Giagbit LAN Adaptor on the A7N8X like they do with the A7V8X. I like Broadcom 4401 that I have for the onboard NIC.

The: What Computer Part did you buy this week thread
Copernicus replied to DosFreak's topic in Slack Space
Another 512MB DDR SDRAM PC-2700 DIMM. That bring to over 1 gig of ram. Also, I got a 60GB Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 HDD. -
That is pretty nuts... It all depends on your sense of humor Still, I do believe that music & games can (to a degree/some extent, depending on the individual & their own strength of character & responsibility) influence folks! Well the computer beginners always will get influenced. I see it alot sence I work at a Wal-Mart that has pre-built systems. * ESPECIALLY the young, who are searching for their place in the world/identity. It's the old ones that get hooked into rumors first Ah, you're definitely onto us now... you "AMD" hackers! Keep using those AMD CPU's! Sure will, I'm not going to stop anytime soon. See, because... if you do? Well... this says it best: http://funwavs.com/wavfile.php?quote=972&sound=72 That's funny. I hope I keep help you against the dark side. * lol... APK

XP or 2K- Ok now which to you like?
Copernicus replied to CyberGenX's topic in Everything New Technology
Win 2K SP3 has my vote. At least it doesn't have the security problems that microsoft hasn't fixed in XP. Well I should be honest, I have Win 2K SP4 beta RC 4.36. -
This site has always been funny. It's part of the paranoid that are worried about every thing. They consider the those with AMD processors to be hackers. I guess I must be a hacker sence I have a AMD XP 2400+ w/ over a gig of ram.

Stable enough to operate. There are some things that need to be fixed, like a reboot bug that hangs the system and forces the user to manually reboot and some other things.

Windows XP SERVICE PACK 2 LEAKED!!
Copernicus replied to NTGAMEMAN's topic in Everything New Technology
WinXP SP2 has to be a more recent beta than SP4 for Win2K(I'm singed up for that on Betaplace). If that beta is as good as SP4 for Win2K than it's not bad. I think it would be a good idea to create a Win2K SP4 Beta and a WinXP SP2 Beta page to discuss the probles and what not with them. -
It's should have loaded perfically, but there might be some things in your Win2K or WinXP build. You might want to either rebuild or use the latest drivers for for your video card, sound card,mainboard,etc... It's the best thing to do when something like this happens.

You can't get there from here... Wireless LAN question
Copernicus replied to GTwannabe's topic in Networking
Yes, there are some inexpensive 802.11b solutions. Right now I have a Wireless NIC from Blitzz Connect that I got for $48 at Wal-Mart. A Wired/Wireless Linksys Router is $89. The cost has been going down a lot in the last few years. -
BTW, I have a GF 4 4200 128MB Video card(Asus) using the latest beta drivers and DX9.

Aoe 2 Gold work well with Win2K but it's a bit buggy. At least it seemed that way with SP3 loaded. I have a beta copy of SP4, so maybe I should see if it works better.

Maxtor's and Seagates always seem to be quite reliable. Right Now I has all Maxtor HDD's( an older D740x Series HDD an a newer Diamondmax Plus 8 Series HDD). The Plus 8 HDD stays cooler than the D740X HDD.

Logitech MX700 I replaced a Logitech Optical Wheel Mouse(Blue w/Blue Light). I originally was looking for an MX500 not a MX700 but the Best Buy I went to didn't have any MX500 in stock at the time.

DVD/MP3 Decoder - Which One Would You Suggest?
Copernicus replied to One Old Jedi's topic in Software
Sonic works a lot better and uses less resouces. I have a copy of Cineplayer 1.5 and I like it. You can have it set the Aspect Ratio for it even if it only a Full or Widescreen movie.
