Strange, no problem running Turok 2 in Windows XP SP-2 without any compatible changes. It complained about the graphic card first time at startup but that could be changed to a compatible card in Turok 2 What graphic card do you have ? Turok runs without problem on NVidia 6800 PCI Express.

Have you tried to update, latest version should be 1.3 Did a google check, the file you a refering to seems to have something to do with sound.

If Windows XP, look in Documents and Settings, "User name", and then in the Favorites folder.

Have you tried changing memory sticks on the motherboard ? I wouldn´t go for a 300W PSU due to heat but thats my opinion, I would go for at least 400W -

Cannot Install nvidia display driver
janericg replied to HUGH_SMITH's topic in Everything New Technology
Are you trying to install from downloaded drivers from NVidia or are you using Windows Update to install the NVidia drivers ? And I agree with Tomay, graphic card ? and chipset drivers ! -
Also the PSU have changed the old motherboard had a 200W PSU and now I have a 300W Have two cd-drives and two harddrives, one of each has been disconected but the problem still occurs The GeForce4 workes fine with a 200W PSU at work - - - Sorry, due to the fact that I have a 3HGz AMD the PSU is 400W, I am not really sure but the old one was 200W

What I mean is that the computer power cuts off, but it gives nothing in the error log and no damage on harddrive when starting up again. The GeForce 4 card worked fine on a another computer and as stated before the problem did happen on a different motherboard but the same monitor. Uninstalling is always a problem, I uninstalled the NVidia graphics drivers before trying the ATI card.

I have a Hansol 710P monitor and a ASUS v7100 Pro Videocard, everything works fine On my old computer I tried to change the videocard to a GeForce 4, Windows 2000 starts up and the drivers are found. After a while anything I try to do the computer power cuts off, put the V7100 card back and everything worked fine again. Now I have a new computer with K7N2 Delta motherboard, new memory, 3 GHz AMD and 300 W power supply and the old graphic card and Hansol monitor. Tried another GeForce 4 videocard and the same thing happend, power cuts off. Have just replaced the V7100 with a Sapphire ATI 9600 Pro and the samething happens again, when I try to do anything the computer power cuts off. Can anyone give me a idea of it´s a monitor problem or something else, the monitor is really the only part that hasn´t been replaced.

Hello ! Well if you haven´t change anything but the graphics card I agree that it could be the problem, there are more funny things than to install but what if you try to install XP with another graphics card and then change after installation is finished. I like ASUS but they have a strange way of up[censored] bios every now and then, are the BIOS up to date ? What I don´t like about your description is that it won´t start in fail safe mode, quite strange

Can someone PLEASE shed some light onto this problem
janericg replied to Chicken_Nibblet's topic in Everything New Technology
I may be wrong but it seems that you are using XP without Service Pack 1 (build 2600 I think was the original release) I run UT2003 on a AMD 1700+ with XP SP1 and I have no problem You have given a date for UT2003 is this the 2136 build ? It think it was released later than 02-09-19 but not sure. -
