Cool thanks. The samples is all I needed. I want to get songs but sometimes I dont know the name or whatever and hate downloading 9 songs to find the right one hehe.

I used to love cdnow.com cause you could sample songs off tons of cd's but amazon took it over now and wont let me listen to music samples. There anyother sites like that?

Phantasy star online has no subscription fee's if your playing the first version, ver.2 has fee's. Dont quote me on that but I am almost 100% thats how it works.

Ok what about ddr then? I looked some but Im a bit behind on my motherboards so not sure what runs what. Key things I want in a board are serial connectors, whatever fastest ddr the intel cpu's can handle (Ive seen 3500 but no boards for p4 that use it I dont think) 8x agp, pentium 4 533 cpu support and hyperthreading (Im sure HT is a given in most new boards though). And jim I was asking for suggestions on a certain thing. Not a lecture on ram and what I should or shouldnt get. Not to mention I never said I had to have abit, just said I like them. I realize serial drives arent out but if I am going to get a board why wouldnt I want one with support for them? And of course Im going to pay top dollar, Ive never bought many things brand new that were dirt cheap.

Whats LG? I think I am going to get a dvd/cd but the eternal question which one? Hehe. I have a front slot one in my game machine made by pioneer and it works ok for me I might get another. And no I dont need a burner. I have a plextor 24x10x40 now and only time Ill upgrade it is when plextor makes a dvd/cd burner.

I think my kenwood 72x is about to kick the bucket. It starts up slow, doesnt like to read burned cd's and has been through alot. Considering I bought this guy when they first came out Im surprised it still works. Now its time to buy a new one. I was considering getting a dvd/cd combo drive, even though I dont use dvd's or watch them or whatever on my pc. Im at a loss what to get. Wether its cd only or a dvd and cd rom I just want something that isnt junk and will last awhile, nice and quiet, starts up quick and is pretty fast (doesnt have to 2000x). More or less what anyone wants when they look for one.

The service pack he was reffering to is for windows XP. Your using 2000 since your on service pack and 3 and 4 kind of thing. So disregard that.

No offense to your thought but you couldnt give me a creative video card, sound card sure but not a video card. I have visiontek in both of my machines and I love them. Ive been using visiontek since the first geforce cards. But according to alot of websites they might be going out of business. I dont know who is telling the truth or not but I hadnt heard from visiontek about it. If they do they will probablly be bought by pny. But they cross shipped me a geforce 3 once when the fan on my died after 6 months which was really cool, other than that havent had a problem. At any rate the Leadtek makes a fine card, MSI is a decent company also and read pretty good things about the asus ones also. But I dont care for asus on the whole for anything they make. Is the WD drive set as master on the drive with the jumpers (I think it goes down the center) and not using the default setting of horizontal on the bottom row? WD drives are a pain alot of time if you use the default setting on the jumper. Also are either of the drives on cable select using the jumpers? If one or both is they need to be set as definite slave or master. You tried putting them on seperate chains and seeing if that fixes it? Im still thinking but Ill put this here for now.

I used that board in a friend of mines machines when he wanted something that was decent but not really top of the line. he basically only plays everquest. So I used that board, 1.4 athlon xp, gig of pc133 ram, windows XP and it runs like a champ. Nothing fancy about the board at all but it gets the job done. I didnt have a bit of problem with and he has been running it for just a little shy of a year.
