i did a little bit of googling and it seems to be a problem with your onboard network card. I would start by trying to find an updated driver for it

Quote: P.S.=> Rundll32.exe's pretty good - It lets you call functions hidden inside .DLL (dynamic link libraries) files. Basically, it's probably a C/C++ program w/ an int argc function in it (allows intake of commandline parameters) to feed to a LoadLibrary API calling function to let you use them - which is pretty much what a C/C++ programmer does for the int argc function in his code if it takes commandline parameters & loads DLL files lib calls to use as well which any language can utilize pretty much... BUT, the rundll32.exe program makes this the province of end-users as well in rundll32.exe program... apk could you say that in english please? ;-)

what a bummer, here in germany it is only in it's second season but I always used alternative means to get the episodes in english. I will miss it. I found it to be the most "realistic" of all the Star Trek series because it was easier to identify with the characters like Tripp, Hoshi and so on. The were like people who lived next door not robots like Data or something....

I have used FIXMBR to remove the grub loader on a windows xp sp2 system just a few days ago. I was running Windows XP and Fedora Core 3. worked just fine.

i don't condone downloading movies or music from the internet but is downloading tv shows really illegal? I am not trying to provoke a big discussion here but what is the difference between downloading a tv show which was broadcast free or recording it with a vcr and sharing it with your friends? i am not talking about pay per view just your normal tv broadcast. -

I find myself asking the question..."With us blowing each other up left and right, how do we find the time to develop time travel?" other than that it would make a great movie script -
in my network at work we also have a mix of pc's that are in the domain and laptops that are not in the domain. Try setting the workgroup name of your pc that is not in the domain to the netbios name of the domain then reboot. After that they should be able to see each other but you still want to be able to share files. e.g. windows 2000 active directory name "w2k.ads.de" the netbios name (or the name with which older clients would use) is "ads" I am assuming that you have no local admin rights on the machine (at least in my domain they don't) so it may not be possible for you to add a user on the domain member. Add a user account with the same credentials as your domain account (user password) on your non domain member (xp) and then share a folder. Make sure you turn off "simple file sharing" on the xp machine which you will find under in windows explorer under "extras, folder options, view" i think. I don't have english windows so I don't know the exact syntax. When you try to access a share on the xp machine it should give you a pop up window asking for username and password and you should use the same account information that you just added. or in a dos window try net use * \\xpmachine\xpshare /user:username password it is imperative that the users have passwords!! i hope this all makes sense

Will clearing the CMOS help with IRQ_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL errors?

and here is what they have to say about the dvd emulation problems: check the following: 1. the cd/dvd is in your cd/dvd player ; ) 2. make sure that you have no virtual "drive" software installed (e.g. Daemon-Tools, Clone CD or Alcohol 120%) when you have done that and you still have problems then: turn of the DMA mode on your cd/dvd player. to do that do the following: Win 9x/ME: 1. right mouse click on My Computer and click properties 2. change to the tab "Device Manager" 3. open the device manager and navigate to your DVD/CD-ROM and click on the "+" 4. right mouse click on your DVD/CD-ROM and choose properties 5. check if you have DMA Transfer Mode (or something like that) checked and if so uncheck it! 6. click ok and then start the pc new Windows XP: 1. click on "Start -> Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device Manager" 2. open the Device Manager and navigate to the entry "ide Controller" 3. right mouse click on the channel on which your DVD/CD-Rom (Primary or Secondary depending on which controller your CD/DVD-ROM is) and choose properties. 4. Check if your CD/DVD-ROM is running in DMA or PIO mode and change if needed to PIO 5. confirm with ok and restart -------------------------------------------------------------- personally i would not be willing to change to pio mode. i personally would try setting up a new hardware profile which i could boot when i want to play the game rather than switching to pio mode.....phoooey! -------------------------------------------------------------- you should also install the follwing patches to fix this problem: For Windows 98 and Me - Install the newest version of DCOM http://www.microsoft.com/com/dcom/dcom98/download.asp For Windows XP - Install the Safedisc Patch: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/release.asp?releaseid=35831 For Windows 2000 - Install the Safedisc Patch: http://www.macrovision.com/products/safedisc/downloads.shtml ---------------------------------------------------------------- now i would personally try installing the patches before turning off dma mode but hey...this is only the translation. ---------------------------------------------------------------- close all background programs or services except the following: Windows 98/ME Required Processes --------------------------------- Explorer Systray Windows XP / 2000 Required Processes --------------------------------- system smss.exe csrss.exe winlogon.exe services.exe lsass.exe svchost.exe (when open more than once then leave it!) Explorer spoolsv.exe press CTL + ALT + DEL and you can close the open processes in Task Manager now when you have done all of this and it still does not work and you DO have the cd emulation programs installed like Daemon-Tools they recommend de-installing said programs. ---------------------------------------------------------- seems like a lotta trouble to go through to play a game... i hope this helps and please excuse any mistakes in the translation ..i don't have an english version of windows ..only english linux ; )

since you stated that you are running winxp sp2 i would start by checking your firewall settings...disable it (temporarily)and see if the games work then.

i had the same problem with a pc this week. what kind of spyware was it? newdotnet or webhancer? these are lsp's or "layer service providers" that bind to the winsock. if you remove these wrong (like some anti-spyware programs do) you end up breaking your internet access. in my case it was a wireless connection...i could still ping the router but no internet access.. try LSP fix which you can download here http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm there is also a small utility floating around that rewrites the correct registry keys for , in my case, windows xp named "winsockxpfix" try looking for it with your favourite search engine. if it was new.net spyware there is even a deinstallation tool on their page. this didn't work for me though since the anti-spyware tool had already done the damage. Good luck!!
