  1. Hey all, A couple years ago, I bought a retail version of Windows 2000 Professional for my previous system. I have 2k installed on that system and I believe I downloaded SP1 for it a while back. I want to use this same copy of Win2k for the system I am building now. I heard a rumor that if you try to download service pack 3 and your hardware configuration is different, microsoft will modify your registry and your system will be locked down in 60 days. I also heard that this may be only for Windows XP service pack 1. Can someone please confirm?? -thanks

    FAT32 on WD HDD

    When I try to install Windows 2000 Pro on my Western Digital WD800JB hard drive (7200rpm, 80GB), it only gives me the option of using the NTFS file system. Does anyone know why it won't allow me to use the FAT32 file system?
