  1. Any help appreciated. Just bought a new MOMO logitech force feedback wheel and pedals -- it all installed in my Win2000 OS fine and tests out OK with Logitech utilities. I have Win2000 service pack 2 loaded and DX 8.1. Since I got a older system I needed to choose a Need for Speed version 2 (NFS) so as not to exceed my weak hardware (300 MHZ AMD, 128 Meg RAM, ATI 3D Rage Pro 8 meg. video card, USB 1.0) Downloaded full version of NFS2 off a Rusky website, installed fine, software starts up OK, but under options it will not recognize force feedback. When I go to RACE, car just sits there will not take off -- no response to any pedals, wheel, buttons, paddles, nuthin. Appears the newer Logitech has a newer Iforce2.dll that is not recognized ? I can see the iforce.dll in the NFS folder, and nothing in the FORCE folder. Checking the Logitech folder there is an iforce2.dll, but not an iforce.dll. Hmmmmmmmm . . . any ideas ? Robert

Need for speed 2 not working with Logitech FF system ?

This latest Logitech MOMO FF wheel ONLY connects by USB port, so it appears I'll have to continue my search. It appears the earlier versions of NSP do not install and work well with Win2000, (except version 2 ?) and of course the later versions would not work with my CPU and video card limitations. Where the heck am I gonna find a force feedback car race game that works with Logitech's newest FF MOMO wheel (version 2 .dll and USB only), but won't overtax my AMD 300 MHZ and All-in-one Pro Rage 3D 8 meg video card and will install and work properly with Win2000 ?? Appears that NFS 2.0 has an older .dll and my Logitech has a 2.0 .dll as detailed below ? I'm curious which was the earliest version of NFS that used the 2.0 .dll (iforce2.dll). From the Logitech readme: Unfortunately, there are a small number of older games, which support force feedback using protocols which are not compatible with Logitech force feedback devices. Most new titles that support force feedback use the protocol supported by Logitech devices. The following is a list of games in which it is known that force feedback does not function properly with Logitech force feedback joysticks. Logitech devices use what is known as "I-Force 2.0" technology in conjunction with Microsoft's DirectX 5.2+ software to perform force feedback. These games below are generally either I-Force 1.0 or are using Microsoft's own proprietary "Visual Force Factory" for force feedback effects.
