what is the folder name? can you acces it and see what is inside. did you installed a program like changeext that let you have more option on the right click action on a file or document. remove it and try again.

Well I can see 3 thing you can do. 1- In Regedit check HKEY_CURRENT_USER\CONTROL PANEL\DESKTOP D-click PowerOffActivevalue, and type 1 in the value field. Ty CPU magazine, it work for me after a few boot it came back. 2- live whit it 3- Well download the folowing A- zonelab firewall or outpost firewall B- AVG anti virus (free) C- A Squared AND Spybot S&D ( Free also) Then install windows formating your drive, install the program in the order of the download, update window. Now if you keep them up to date and use there build in protection, you should have 6 to 12 mounth of no worry. But windows is windows and whit all that and no virus and spy attack, my system still had the same problem you had for some time. don't give up We make it a better net not the corporation.

did you install the ati drive or the sapphire drive. they are realy different drive and one does not work on the other.

I guest not but that might not be a good sign. I recommend that you contact the compagnie to discover a better way to cool down the card. I sure know that they are fragile at high temperature. Well at the cost they are. I would not sleep well knowing a fan cool it down and realy suck at it.

Try the latest driver. then go down the list whit older driver. good luck

Get rid of norton and use "zone lab" whit "a squared", spybot and win protector plus. Work fine for me.

I had a similar problem whit my computer. I bought a bran new SONY dvd player. The system keep frezzing after I inserted a cd or dvd in it. So I tried to find the problem, I even tought the firmware for the via shipset was at fault, well after searching for to year, my pride took me to long, the warranty go expired, technology got cheaper. So I bought a pionear dvd-108 2 mounth ago and the system never freze any more. I also changed the ide cable because I used to get them out often. and one day they broke. So mabe you have a bad wire somewere. or the dvd is just not compatible whit some hardware you have. Well I feel better now that it's out. lol Well Good luck.

ok, I was searching an old topic that explained how to change music files in Need for speed underground. After 1 hours and 1/2 of searching I can't event find a topic that is related whit the help, I browsed page by page in the xp game section but got tired after the 12 / 43 page. Absolutely not possible !! But hey that also why norton recycle bin is there. To save you time looking for lost file. Just restor them if they are useful. And put a password on you cpu so that ppl will not use it will your away.

x-mas is comming, buy him a nice head set from 50 to 100$ that shold get your hears clean. Or Talk whit your supervisor is also a good solution. Crashing a computer is against what I stand for. It's already hard keeping it running these days. And any way he will probably get it fix and start all over again. So it's basicly pointless. Good luck any way.

I had one of these. and it never work fine. sometime it was not detected, sometime when a disk was inserted it frezze the pc. Sometime it just did'nt work fine at all all the time. Usualy it crash 4 out of 5 time. So I got rid of it after spending 2 year trying to get answer from sony, up[censored] firmware, posting in forum. nothing worked ! I even tought it was a chip set problem untin I got this new Pioneer drv-108. and it work like a charm. So I guest I have the priviledge to tell you that you got f... Well that what I think and sony is on my black list, whit 3com and others for bad support and fake product. I only get f... once ! that my modo. Well good luck. before you drop it in the garbage can. I still use it in older computer. I don't know why but it never crash untill now. Probably because the system is slower. but if you can change it go for it.

Humm It look like you have mix a few thing. Bios should be accessible before windows boot and give you option like safe mode. Unless your k-board is dead. It's probably not that since you can chose in witch mode windows boot. For the recovery console, if you have 2k or xp, try using the boot disk. Proceed like when you install windows. but instead use the repair option. Back to the bios, you can try to reset it by removing the battery and power for a few sec, or use the Motherboard pin see user manual of you board for that. It's always usefull to take the error number and google it. It might help a lot. Good luck

That been a long time I played Ice Age. I remember a few card that were popular. Zuran Orb (artifact) is a must. Arcana Denial (bleu) is a nice conter spell I can live witout a few. blinking spirit is a nice creature in white. Well I don't get it, I use IE all the time and I have no problem at all. Well that might be because I use tools that IE does not have like a good firewall, a good ad killer and a good anti hijacker, and ...... Well I guest your right after all IE suck and it always have. and will for the next century. I hope. But my point is that when you know how, and spend the time learnig how, you save your self lot of time later on. I learn the hard way to use a firewall.
