hi i installed linux suse 8.1 all went very well , tried to ping own ip with intel pro100 nic card no results , tried to ping other machine no results , tried to configure adsl olitec interface does not sync line , any solutions will be great. tankx

im trying to install linux redhat 8.0 for the first time, i have created a boot disk as instructed , i booted the machine and started the install when it asks for the images for the installation from the cdrom or the hd i choose the cdrom and it says it can not find any images. i noticed there is a file called .discinfo i looked inside and there is a name i was wondering is this the name of the disc or what ? it seems it does not find the cd inspite the fact that when i direct it to the cdrom i hear it spin but no results . any help ? thankx
