I don't know - my video is sharp with the nVidia driver. Was sharp with the vesa driver, too. What version of the driver are you running? Can you post the Module, Device, and Screen sections from your XF86Config file? You run it in your web server, it generates the rules and e-mails them to you (so you can scp it to the server and install it) I didn't like it - but that was ages ago, it might have gotten better. Also - I think webmin was working on one.

Just install ogle. They have RH8 rpm's at their website. You can figure out apt-get later. people - he asked for a dvd player, not what your opinion on package management and fetching is. http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/groups/dvd/redhat.shtml ogle works very well for me. Just remember to turn on dma for your dvd drive. They tell how to do that in the ogle faq.

Hi - With this board, FireWire is recognized but does not work (yet). The 3com nic works with a simple patch. The audio works with the nVidia nvaudio module on older kernels, with the i810_audio module that is in 2.4.20 kernel. The audio module does not load at boot by itself at boot, you need to set up your /etc/rc.local file to load the audio module. If you are using nVidia's audio module, add this line to /etc/rc.local /sbin/modprobe nvaudio If you are using the kernel module from 2.4.20 add /sbin/modprobe i810_audio -=- The ide controller is not supported in current kernels and this causes a generic driver to be used that sucks, but 2.4.21pre4 has support for the ide device and gives much better drive read time (according to hdparm) I have a kernel and instructions at http://homepage.mac.com/mpeters/A7N8X/ Works for me.
