I just installed mandrake 9.1 and I think its better then 9.0 seems easier to work with. Anyway I can't seem to get any sound when plaing music I looked every where I could think of to configure but I must be missing something funny thing is it worked with 9.0 :x Thanks Art

When I try and download the Kino RPM it shuts down my browser and returns me back to my desk top. Is there something wrong with the site??

When downloading rpm's where are you suppose to save them to? I downloaded a rpm and saved it to my /home/hollywood but when I go to terminal and type in the rpm to install it says that there is no file or directory. I beleive that I'm not saving them in the correct place which is causing all kinds of problems. Am I correwct and where should I be saving rpm's? Hollywood

How do I get the new Mozilla download to run. I downloaded YUM and installed it then I downloaded the latest Mozilla 1.4. I then went to terminal and ran yum install mozilla 1.4 it said tha it installl ed it but when I open the browser it is still the 1.2.1 version. What did I screw up this time???? Thanks

I tried as you suggested and when it updates it reads that mozzila is already installed and the latest version but I can not get it to run.

I have tried everthing I could possibly think of to get a video player to work with redhat 9. I tried tar balls I tried rpms I bought redhat for dummies and no matter what I can't seem to get the damn thing to load. Can anyone help with this Thanks

I hope this is what you are aking for. Is it possible that I have a bad installation? I downloaded the three discs of the tube. No matter what software I try and install its the same thing. I tried by logging in as root. It starts going through its thing then it reads that a package matching mplayer can not be found. I thought I had to download the rpms while in root so I tried that also. I get the same thing package matching can not be found. Any more thoughts? -

Phillipp I downloaded and installed YUM like you suggested I then downloaded mplayer and a few others. When I go to open and install any of the players the preparing system update box pops up for a few seconds then it goes away and nothing happens. What the hell am i missing here Thanks for the help -

I was just reading a article on the compatible site about Red Hat X. When is the new ver. coming out or is it already out? Does anyone know what the differences will be compared to Red Hat 9 Thanks A

How do I open and use my exel spreadsheets that I have When ever I try to open one I get the error message That says Natulis does not have a veiwer installed. But when I open a open office spread sheet and go to file there is a few of my files listed and I can open and use them. Any idea on what gives

I have redhat 9 installed as a dual boot with XP and I'm loving it so far. I would like to get the e-mail part to work but all as I can do is send mail and not receive anything. I went through the set up a bunch of times and even called my ISP but all to no avail. I'm not sure what kind of info I should post for help Thanks

How do I get xlr and xls files to open in redhat 9 I can run the xls off of a disc but not the xlr. Neither of them will open after I saved them to a folder. I get the following message. Nautilus has no installed veiwer capible of displaying filename. Any thoughts would be appercaited Art
