In 2k i could share my folders on my little home network and set all the settings and who was allowed to access them etc ! however i don't seem to be able to do this in XP i either share them or i dont ! ( is there any way i can enable the feature of playing with all the settings? thanks :x

Mr.Guvernment thanks that got it ! i can now specify what settings my folders are being shared with !! ViokentGreen What do you mean what does it do? Changing between simple sharing and advanced means the user can specify the settings for which the file can be shared ! i just like to be able to see all the settings and some times i only want some network users to access the folder !

not too sure what your problem is but i can say that nero works fine for music. i use it. Have u tried a different CD? does your cdplayer work with other CDR's? just some things to think about ! RF

ok the motherboard only made an effect as it didn't have sound on it ! once i put in a Inno CMI8378 PCI 5.1 sound card in it started crashing and as soon as i took it out ! it stopped ! DOH ! so that is my prob and i dont know how to solve it ! --other than getting a different sound card ! but i would rather not have to keep splashing out on components ! i aint rich !! ) G

ok i have been told i can use a perl script to ensure that ppl come from a certain page in my site. And there for can't link there directly ! i have found a script that will do this at http://www.tdscripts.com/tddetect.html but am not really sure how to use it?! can anyone tell me how to use this script or give me the link to somewhere that has a bit more of a self explainitary script !! found it !!! No the bit that i was planning on doing this for didn't work ! i am still trying to find a way of doing it but i think i will have to use php now due to the fact i am working with two php pages ! i suspect i will have to use sessions ! from what i have been told but.....can't work it out ! thanks for the respons !

hey thanks for your reply, glad you like it ! the logo was created by the other guy along with the layout however i have adapted and changed bits and made it work ! ie scripts etc its main purpose is to provide a place where people can submit their own grumble free holiday reports with all the tips and pointers so that people travelling to that destination can have a better idea of what to look out for ! and if we can get more people adding reports the greater the resource will be !

im running xp pro and every now and again the system will hang for 30secs or so, i can switch between programs, but cannot do anything on the programs?!! this is becoming a bit of a pain ! any ideas? ive run scandisc and NAV Thanks

i have changed the motherbaord from the asus to an Abit K7333R and reinstalled xp, it seems to have worked !!

ok, it has only been happening recently. I am able to move the mouse around and switch between progs but can't actually do anything - like close a program - do send and recieve - etc It is as if the memory is ful and i have to wait for it to clear! it only takes 30secs or so but it is really frustrating! anyone know wot it is? XP2200 512MBDDR333 memory, 2x40GB HD's win xp thanks G
