    Intellimouse 3.0 USB

Quote: Have managed to get any other usb devices to work? It had me crazy for about 36 hours, Murphy's law, I post an SOS in this forum, and fixed the problem myself 10 minutes later. This is how I did it. I was getting bored with the usb thing. Decided it would be more fun to overclock my 2400XP. Over did it and bios would'nt boot! Oh s***! Removed bios Battery, this resets bios to default settings. I adjusted bios as before, at least I think so. Anyhow usb related adjustments are exactly the same as before. Linux boots and usb flash card, and web cam are recognized !!!! I dont have a convinsing explanation for this, I suspect that I had something wrong in the bios setup. If you want to use usb2.0 you need to add this line in modules.conf # usb2.0 probeall usb-interface ehci-hcd you can see if its recognized in /proc/bus/usb/devices or using usbview nevertheless squeks advice regarding the mouse is the best. Have you tried overclocking your 2700XP? I managed 14 x 166 by raising the cpu voltage to 1.75 this = 2324Mhz Totally stable. cooling is provided by thermalright slk800 and a 60 x 12 mm delta fan. Bare in mind the the highest clocked thoroughbred is the 2800XP clocked at 13.5 x 166 2241 Mhz You should be able to clock yours very close to 2500 Mhz perhaps 12.5 x 200 good luck, please let me know the outcome of this. OK...my intellimouse is working...but the scroll is not working....how do I set it up? BTW....I've had it at 191x13 2485mhz...pretty good, huh?

    Intellimouse 3.0 USB

Hi! I've finally got my A7N8X motherboard working under Mandrake 9.0. However, I'm still having issues with getting my usb mouse working in mandrake 9.0. I gotta tell ya, you guys hit the nail right on the head about the other stuff that I did get working...such as my onboard audio, and onboard NIC. I followed the instructions to the letter, and I am browsing the 'net and hearing good sounds from my board. I have an Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (usb) and it is not recognized by any of the usb ports on the board. Here's my setup: A7N8X (non-deluxe) AthlonXP 2700+ 768mb DDR400 RAM 1x40GB & 1 120GB Maxtor ATA133 HD's Visiontek GeForce4 Ti4600 48x24x48x16x DVD/CD-RW 40x12x48x CD-RW Mandrake 9.0 (custom kernel 2.4.19.16mdk) Any help is greatly appreciated.
  4. I tried to install mandrake 9.0 on my nForce2 A7N8X-Deluxe board over the weekend with no success. I read all the tips that I could on the matter, and I still could not get it up and running. Here's the specs: A7N8X Deluxe motherboard AMD AthlonXP 2600 (333) 768 MB DDR400 Memory VisionTek Ti4600 Vid Card Natural Keyboard Pro Intellimouse Explorer (all else is onboard) The installation went without a hitch, but when I tried the nVidia latest drivers (NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0248.mdk90up_2.4.19_16.athlon.rpm or even NVIDIA_nforce-1.0-0248.src.rpm) my usb mouse stopped working. I could not use my onboard ethernet cards(neither one), and the NVdriver would not load. As I said before, I read the tips and trick that was posted as a sticky for red hat posted in another forum, but it did not help me. I would really like to get this working, that way I can do away with my via board forever. Do anyone have this combination working in unity? If you do, could you help me out by writing a detailed howto? Thanks for taking out the time to help out a linux nut.
