Check out asusboards.com, it's a good site even for non Asus users. There's quite a lot of discussion going on about the combination of E7205-based motherboards and Radeon 9700 Pro cards. I personally own the Asus P4G8X Deluxe, with a Gigabyte Radeon 9700 Pro, and had frequent crashes and dropouts to like 640x480, 16 colors, until I disabled fast writes in the ATi control panel.
If I've understood it correctly, this is due to an errata in the E7205 chipset which Intel currently has no plans of fixing. Sucks big time...but at least fast writes doesn't really mean much to performance. Oh, well.
