Hi all, Thanks for your last responses. I have to upgrade from NT to XP. I''m wondering if you think it is a better idea to simply get a new hardrive and do a new install of XP prof. , rather than upgrade. Will this be less problematic? And what about the BIOS on my Dell Optiplex - does that need upgrading too? I'm not too worried about all my apps and data. Thanks in advance. Oliver
