What OS is this? Do you have RAID? Are you using any virtual PCs? Do you have Nero? At what point does the OS hang?
-
http://www.msi.com.tw/program/support/bios/bos/spt_bos_detail.php?UID=527&kind=1 version 1.9 is the latest bios revision....

Try disconnecting them and reboot. Does it still hang at reboot?
-
As long as it doesn't use USB you should be fine.
-
Are you using any USB devices? I've ran into some computers that had problems rebooting, due to having any USB connections.

Either something to do with a router, firewall, or 1973 Chevelle Owners Manual.

So, the hard drive was getting activity, and you just shut the machine down?
-
Have you scanned for malware? How much memory do you have?

What's your optimum MTU, under broadband and Win2K?

According to this: http://www.microsoft.com/windows2000/en/server/help/ping.htm you should be able to use the -f for ping. lowercase f and lowercase l not the number one. You can do a ping -? to get a list of the switches that are available..... -
Could you post the errors you get for the BSOD? Also, what OS is this?
-
My question is. Where did the computer "hang" at? Was it during the chkdsk process? Sometimes running chkdsk takes a huge amount of time and sometimes not. Pending on hdd size and speed.

Hmmm, pokey and slow? Defrag perhaps??

Nlite is excellent. If you want a custom build of XP. AutoStreamer is another that just streams xp and a service pack, automatically. http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4444 Btw, Nlite moved to a different name. It is now: http://www.nliteos.com/

Yes. I'm sure there is a free one out there. But, here is a 30 day trial. I haven't tried it, but it looks good. Called: Driver Genius Pro http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4056 The program I have used in the past was from http://www.driverguidetoolkit.com/ which is also a trial. But, I'm going to go ahead and download Driver Genius Professional, since it "looks" nice.

Change the Maximum Transmission Unit (MTU) Size (Windows NT/2000/XP) http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/280/ Optimize Broadband Cable Modem and DSL Connections (Windows 2000/XP) http://www.winguides.com/registry/display.php/645/ -
Do you have OWA installed? If not, then you need to install this from your exchange cd.
-
No fixes as of yet, but the following link describes how to do a manual install, instead of relying on .MSI. http://marc.theaimsgroup.com/?l=apache-httpd-users&m=106808565817795&w=2

Hmmm, just installed fine on my super computer. I.E. XP SP2, with a PII 400, 320 mbs ram...stupid work computer... Anyway, I assume you have already gone thru this? http://www.ip97.com/apache.org/httpd/binaries/win32/TROUBLESHOOTING.html One note that the above link has, is a log file. Perhaps: MSIEXEC /I apache_install_package.msi /L*v YourLogFileName.txt

Is this the pt880 Neo or the pt880 Neo-FSR? Also, have you gone into the bios and disabled RAID? The drive may be plugged into one of the raid enabled IDE connectors. I had an old board that didn't have raid, but I had to install a driver for the controller b4 I could install windows. Went through the same situation that you are going thru.

Hard drive now crashes windows? any way to get data back?
theefool replied to Dazultra2000's topic in Hardware
When you said several components got fried, which components were they? Are you using the same motherboard with this other PATA drive? I'd hook that SATA drive to a seperate computer to retrieve that data. -
Problems with Linksys Wireless Router and Printer Sharing

Try the following link. http://www.campinghounds.com/links/Networking%20HP%20G85%20Printer/index.php -
Through IE's address bar? Wait, you don't want to go through OWA, but rather to use outlook? Maybe, I'm confused. What is your school do you go to?

Perhaps a working link might help, for this situation. Do you have a router w/ a built in firewall?
