Did anyone download NullSoft Waste before they pulled it?

If you downloaded or otherwise obtained a copy of the Software, you acquired no lawful rights to the Software and must destroy any and all copies of the Software, including by deleting it from your computer. Any license that you may believe you acquired with the Software is void, revoked and terminated. Any reproduction, distribution, display or other use of the Software by you is unauthorized and an infringement of Nullsoft's copyright in the Software as well as a potential violation of other laws. (...) I'm not a lawyer, but it sounds like they have "terminated" the license. By the way, heard a rumour that Justin is leaving Nullsoft. Is it just a rumour or is there any truth in it? http://news.com.com/2100-1032_3-1012833.html?tag=fd_top -
Restoring desktop shortcuts and left preview pane in XP
ViolentGreen replied to videobruce's topic in Software
Quote: Also, how do you enable web view within a window? The windows look like '95 now without the preview left pane showing. I know that you can do it in folder options on 2000. XP might be the same. -

Quote: Quote: Well, if they own the software, I imagine they can change the license to anything they want. It's just that simple. The owner typically reserves the right to do what he/she wants, and this is a major reason why licensing is so weak. (...) It's not that simple with GPL.. The main question right now, as I and 'adamvjackson' discussed it earlier, is legitimacy of the release. But still, AOL has to prove that GPL had never been applied.. You can't revoke the license just because you don't like it; it's not that simple. Did they revoke the license or just kill the link? -

It's been a while since I used ICQ but dosn't it have multiple servers? A quick google search on "ICQ Servers" seemed to verify this. I would try connecting to a different server. It sounds like its a problem with the server since ICQ is the only application that it happens on. AIM does occasionally lag while logging on so I don't think this is jsut an issue with your machine/setup. Let me know if changing the server works.

Quote: Just been having some trouble with ICQ and AIM. When I connect to ICQ I frequently get disconnected and it takes a while to reconnect. Sometimes it doesn't even reconnect at all. This is mostly the problem with ICQ. It does it with AIM as well, but very rarely. However, basically, my ICQ would turn yellow and would prohibit me from connecting. At times, if I restart ICQ, it would connect again, sometimes no. I really don't understand why this is happening. We are behind a firewall and I connect using the HTTP proxy.. Please post any ideas you guys may have.. Thanks! Do you have access to the rest of the net while it is doing this? Do you have a fileshareing app running at the same time that may be hogging the bandwith?

AOL owns Nullsoft right? If this is the case they woudn't need any other reason besides not wanting it released. -
These are the system requirements off amazon. Quote: 500 MHz or faster processor 128 MB RAM 16 MB video card You are using the bare minimum in two out of three of these. Software (especially games) rarely run well at the minimum reqirements.

I need to export a report from Access2002 from a visual basic sub routine. I am using DoCmd.OutputTo acOutputReport, "Table", acFormatXLS, "File" The problem is that it appears to save it in a pre Excel97 format. The issue here is that it is not displaying the sums. Any click on a sum field causes a memory error. If i manually export to excel97-2002 format everything works. If I export to the excel5-95 I get the above problem. I am wondering if anyone knows how to force it to save in the latest format. I don't know much about VBA or Access. Thanks, either way. On a side note, if a application is going to use SQL, it should stick with the standard.

Adding users from a .xls file or from a .txt in Win2K3...
ViolentGreen replied to dcxman's topic in Software
Quote: Thanks ViolentGreen for the input but I've tried command line even using ADMT as well and zip zilch nada. Have you actually tried this yourself on Windows 2003 Enterprise Server with AD? Thanks again I have not. I know absolutely nothing about 2003 server. I know XP has an 'Administrator' account. Does 2003 server have it? Have you tried using at ADMT utility logged on as 'Administrator' or just a user with administrative privilages? -
Adding users from a .xls file or from a .txt in Win2K3...
ViolentGreen replied to dcxman's topic in Software
Quote: I just wanted to say thanks DS3Circuit. Unfortunately the BulkAddFromExcel tool does not work for Win2K3 Server. I forgot to state earlier that I was using this tool as well for my Win2K and had already tested it out along with AddUsers. Thanks again. Anyone else wanna give this a shot? I thought I already posted a response to this... If you can add users via command line (I don't know whether or not this is possible), you can export xls to csv and then just do a series of finds and replaces to turn your csv into a bat file. -
Quote: Quote: From what I understand there are certain releases that will overclock better then others. Make sure you get a Thoroughbred B though., Do you know you can buy a retail version for $50? Make sure it's a JIUHB (or is it JUIHB? I can't remember) core model as these are the ones that overclock really well. They don't need a lot of fiddling about either, many can reach decent overclocks using little more than stock cooling/voltages. I have seen that before but I wasn't entirely sure what it was talking about. Thats something you don't really know until you get it though.

Quote: ^^ impressive i am getting a used 1700 myself - i had it before and did not get too high on overclocking, but it only ahd pc2100 and an msi board - if i can get speeds like that i will very impressed! thnx for the links! Quote: Quote: Quote: 1. AMD's do not over clock nealy as well as intels do. I can't believe that thats always the case. I have seen XP 1700 running over 3 Ghz. Thats a 1700 MHz OC! i would like to see that - any links? Considering i am a rather "hardcore" overclocker myself and have never heard of a 1700 getting anywhere near that speed. Well I can't find any examples of anything quite that high at the moment but I am fairly sure I have heard of it. Here a couple of bbs posts concerning the 1700. 2300 MHz http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=14009&highlight=1700 2500 MHz http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11251&highlight=1700 I know that it does overclock very well. It runs at 1.3 GHz by default.

Quote: You people act like it is a freeking IRON. It is a computer, you can leave it on 24 7 365. I will not melt down! Heat is an issue with any electrical component with that much going on inside it. AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A DECENT HS&F, IT IS A COMPUTER LIKE ANY OTHER. A great deal of my clients have machines, Dell, Gateway etc. with AMD chips in them, and they NEVER have a problem. The biggest problem is Windows. I think YOU are making it bigger that it really is. Sheeesh... People will blame windows for everything.... How is windows the source of the heat problem?

Quote: What are some good memtesters or benchmarks There is a program called memtest (or maybe memtest86). I am sure you can find it with google. It's basically either a bootable floppy or crdom image. The idea is to let it run for a couple of hours and see if it shows any errors. -

Quote: I'm having a very interesting problem. I have a Intel P4 2.8GHz, 512RAM, PNY Vertigo Geforce4 Ti4400 card, Soyo Dragon Lite MB with SiS 360 AGP. When I run 3dMark2003 or Neverwinter Nights, on WinXP Home the benchmark or NWN freeze. I've got the latest drivers for video card, AGP, did all of the updates for XP. If I run 3dMark 2...it will freeze on the test called Nature. Its not a overheating issue, and only freezes on those tests and in NWN...so I'm wondering what could possibly be causing this problem?? Have you tried running memtest to make sure it's not a memory problem? -
Quote: If your Athlon XP 2400+ isn't outpacing your P3 1.13Ghz machine in every respect, then I seriously think you've either got some faulty components or there is some serious mosconfiguration in the OS. But on the flip side you can't expect a 2400+ to perform as fast as you P4 running at 2.5Ghz, the PR rating system may have its flaws, but for the most part I've found it to be a fairly accurate representation of processor speed, as long as you have a decent chipset for the board to run on. And since you are running a nForce2 mobo, then that isn't the issue. Actaully, I don't believe that is an nforce2
