I am pretty sure I have the newest drivers for my Geforce, so I don't think that's the problem..

ahh.. so it's not hardware then.. It's defintely dx9? I had reinstalled windows a few weeks ago and installed dx9 purpsoely, hoping that it was a software configuration that was causing it do mess up. But I guess it's just direct.. So there's no fix for this? unless we wait for a patch or something.. Well, please post if you guys find anything new that could possibly improve it. Thanks!

Hey, any of you that play Earth and Beyond or.. it could be somehow related to some other high graphics game. Before I installed Direct X 9.0, when I try to minimize the game, it would at times take a while to get back to desktop. Sometimes the display stays on but I see my window's desktop pointer. However, the whole display is the game, not the desktop that I minimize to. It used to minimize fine with DirectX 8.0 installed. I use a Geforce 3 on Windows XP. Anyone know what the problem could possibly be?

Well, we want to create our own but my boss doesn't want us to spend time on it. It's a long story.. haha Anyway, any open-source apis will do as well. Please post any others if you guys find more! Thanks again for these.

yeah I tried some of those servers earlier today, but they didn't work. couldn't even connect to them This is so annoying!! :x

hmm.. well I've checked the ICQ FAQ and there were different ports in which i tried. Same problem.. And usualy at home when I use AIM this doesn't happen to me.
-
Yep I have access to the net, IE works fine, web pages etc. And no, I don't have any file sharing programs running that would hog up the bandwidth. It does the same when I just have ICQ running and no other Internet required applications running

Just been having some trouble with ICQ and AIM. When I connect to ICQ I frequently get disconnected and it takes a while to reconnect. Sometimes it doesn't even reconnect at all. This is mostly the problem with ICQ. It does it with AIM as well, but very rarely. However, basically, my ICQ would turn yellow and would prohibit me from connecting. At times, if I restart ICQ, it would connect again, sometimes no. I really don't understand why this is happening. We are behind a firewall and I connect using the HTTP proxy.. Please post any ideas you guys may have.. Thanks!

Hey guys, it's me again. I'm also looking for a good Graphics API mainly for graphs and stuff. Basically 2d should be fine, with speed and prints out to the screen rather than to a jpg, gif, etc. Disregarding OpenGL, DirectX, GPI, and wxWindows.. Do you guys have any other ideas?

ahh.. sorry about that. Just wasn't sure which section I should post on to. As for the Windows XP/Server one, that was by accident. OK thanks, I'll check out snort, do you guys have any other suggestions?

Hey, I posted this same message under the applications section.. Just wondering which network sniffer for Windows 2000 you would suggest for a business. Just looking for the best and most efficient one. Thanks =)
